Hasn't been a great day. Woke up nauseous, swollen boobs, cramps, took a pregnancy test and got a BFN. That's ok, I'm still a few days early, didn't really expect to get a positive. Did I mention that this is cycle 11 of trying...

But, by mid-day I'm feeling very much like my period is about to start. My excited turns to pending disappointment. My DH doesn't seem concerned. We'll get pregnant next month he says. But I'm getting really tired of the waiting, anxiety, disappointment.

At this point, I'm exhausted and worn down, and I'm going to subject you all to my odd sense of humor. I've decided that the big fat "No" that comes up on the digital pregnancy tests is not very nice. For this very reason I'll probably use the line tests in the future because at least it's not like the test is not emphatically telling me that I'm not pregnant.

However, I think we all should develop a new type of HPT. If you are trying to have a baby there will be a special test for you to use. If you aren't pregnant, it will read "I'm sorry, you're trying so hard, but it didn't work out this month. Don't give up hope." And if you are pregnant it will read "OMG, it finally happened. I'm so excited for you."

You will take a different test if you think you are pregnant, but you aren't ready for a baby. If you get a negative, it will read "Thank goodness. You're in the clear this month. Be careful next time." And if you are pregnant it will read "No worries. It will all work out. You will be a wonderful mother."

I think these tests will be much easier to read than "NO" and "YES". What do you think?

I like this! Honestly, it wouldn't even need to be full sentences - there are so many words that are better than "Yes" and "No."

If you want to get pregnant: Positive - "Congrats!" or "Hooray!" Negative - "Not this time"

If you don't want to get pregnant: Positive - "Oops" Negative - "Whew!"

So funny! I totally agree!  Right now it's more like "FAIL!"

Don't lose hope this month quite yet...

I think you would have a great market for selling these. Advertise them to women who have been trying for awhile and need a laugh/pick me up/some more understanding than just the standard "No!" You could make them like popsicle sticks that have different jokes on each one, except these would have nice, encouraging words.

@sacbride10: You may be onto something! :) Hang in there and I hope your BFP comes soon!!

@Mrs Green Grass: FAIL is right! Everytime I see that dark, crystal clear single line... its like a slap in the face. I mean I've never seen a test strip look so snow white. I don't even need to squint a little... boo!

I'm all about this idea. Right now, I refuse to buy the ones that say "Pregnant/Not Pregnant" (althought my husband would really really like me to) because I don't like feeling like the test is mocking me. The single line is bad enough. I'd definitely buy a more encouraging test.

I'd totally buy them and I agree many women would! I use the non-digital with the two lines, though. Still hate seeing only one line! Hang in there. I know it is tough!!

@sacbride10:I was thinking the same thing about the different pregnancy tests! I haven't been trying as long as you and I hope you get your BFP very soon! I use the line HPT's and I'm convinced the line is evil. After each test I usually spend a good ten minutes looking at it in different lighting to make sure it's not positive.

Aw it will all happen in good time. We tried for a while with no luck (4 months). I started doing some research on natural ways to help get pregnant. I decided to start with taking evening primrose oil and the month i started them we got a BFP but, we ended up having a miscarriage and have decided to hold off until this summer to try again. After the wedding and all. I would try some research and herbal remedies. You never know. best of luck.
