I was on the pill pretty much non-stop for about 10 years. I stopped for 6 months once, but had normal periods (within 1-2 days of my schedule while on the pill). I had no spotting after stopping this time and had a normal first period. but then we got pregnant.
Obviously stress and such can change your cycle. I'd try another test in a few days to be sure though.
My period went back to being regular right away after over a decade on the pill. Like mrstilly said above, I'd wait a day or two and try another test in case it was a false negative.
My period was actually more normal after I stopped taking the pill after almost 9 years on it.
Stopped taking the pill in mid Jan- and we got pregnant the first week of March
Everyone is different- people get false negatives sometimes- I would wait another week or so and see if your period comes before taking another test- sometimes taking a test stresses you out more because you're waiting on the outcome

My cycle has been getting longer by a day or two every month since I stopped the pill (in Feb). Started out textbook at 28 days, but now up in the mid-30s. Because I'm charting, I know it's my ovulation that is delayed, so it doesn't freak me out that my period is late.

I just want to say good luck and keep your fingers crossed a bit longer! A friend of mine went off the pill and got pregnant right away. She was late, but she took a test and it came up negative as well. When she still hadn't gotten her period, she went to the doctor for a blood test since she didn't know if it was her body adjusting to coming off the pill or not, and turned out she was pregnant!

Hi Bees!
I have stopped taking the pill since the end of May and have had three regular menstrual cycles since then. However, my period has been over a week late now and I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came back negative.
For those of you who were on the pill and stopped-- did your period seem regular for a while and then just became irregular?
