@DaniS:  Those tests are called (I think) ovulation predictor kits or OPKs. They detect levels of LH in your system, because prior to releasing an egg, LH surges up. When you get a positive OPK, you are anticipated to release an egg within 24-72 hours. Some people have very short surges, and it is possible to miss them frequently. Some people on the other hand, have like FIVE day surges. Lol. One isn’t better than the other, but it is possible that your urine was just more concentrated when you got the positive.

@DaniS:  Also, you are supposed to have sex every 1-2 days after you get the positive test, a positive test being the one where you got two lines and the test line was as dark as the control line. Hope that helps!!!! GL!

I dont think there is a need to say things delicately with this group 😉

Come join us in the October POAS board, we chat about this all the time!  Those of us who don’t get our BFP in October will eventually move to the november boards.  Hope to see you!

@DaniS:  You can also have multiple LH surges in a cycle, especially if you have an annovulatory cycle (meaning you didn’t ovulate). Coming off BCP really messes with your cycles for awhile, so this could be why you’re getting wonky results. My advice would be to have sex on the day you get your positive OPK and continue to have sex frequently (every day/every other day, whatever you prefer) until you confirm ovulation (with temping/charting) or until your period starts.
