My children are 18 months apart.  My first is in fall and second is in spring.  There is never really a “right” time.  If you have a summer baby, you have to stay in the shade all the time.  If you have a spring/fall baby it’s the start of flu season.  In winter it’s freezing.  I would just do what feels right to you.  I would try to make it so my kids didn’t have birthdays in the same month, but a lot of people are not bothered by that at all.  Good luck in your journey 🙂

I agree with Schatzie821. There’s never a perfect time. It’s ALWAYS a bummer to have morning sickness, holidays or not, and the weather can be tricky in any season. I am from New England, and I actually like the colder weather when it comes to child care — I don’t have to worry about either of us over heating while using the Ergo carrier.

Anyway, I would just TTC when you want to and are ready, and don’t overthink the details about weather and when your morning sickness will strike. You never know how long it will take to get pregnant, so, I say go fot it, & good luck!

Btw, I’m pregnant with #2 right now. If all goes as planned, #1 will be 22 months when #2 is born (when it will still be winter up here). I have had morning sickness again, just as bad as last time, and there just honestly is never a good time for it! 🙂

SouthernSunshine:  I got pregnant with #2 very easily. I was actually still breastfeeding, and we weren’t officially TTC (I needed fertility help the firtst time around and assumed I’d need it again). I have heard that sometimes people get pregnant with #2 more easily — some people’s bodies go into super-fertile mode after having a baby. My OB told me this, but I don’t know if it’s 100% scientific.

Anyway. I’ve really had to lean on my husband during my morning sickness this time around. He has been preparing all her meals (just being in the kitchen is torture) and changing her poopy diapers. I still do the more mellow things like put her to bed and read her stories and stuff. It has definitely been harder than the first time around, when I could just take a sick day and lie on the couch all day. Anyway, as long as your husband is cool with pitching in big time during those first few months, you’ll get through it ok. Good luck with everything!
