It’s just so frustrating. My doctor says “all you have to do is have sex every other day between 9 and 18 days after the start of your mentral cycle” easy right? Well my husband is on a rotation at the fire dept and i work 2 24 hour shifts. Not easy. And every time it’s o time. Someone is working or has to go in late… I’m just venting. It’s just frustrating. This is only our 3rd month of really trying and I know other ladies have been trying longer. I’m just frustrated. Anyone else have schedule obstacles?

@ParaSarah: It’s hard! My hubs works two jobs, and It’s probably why It hasn’t happend for us yet. =( As much as we make the effort throuough mid-cycle, schedules make it difficult.
He is actually considering taking some weeks off soon, so if this isnt’ our month than maybe in the next few months.

OMG…I totally feel your pain. My SO and I are both on shift work and it seems lately we are apposite schedules, he’ll be days, I’ll be nights and our days off dont line up…its super frustrating, especially when you look at the schedule and think “unless I wake him up there will be no BD till…..” Ugh, I feel your pain.

The month we conceived, we had a week where we were literally never awake in the same place at the same time. We’d talk on the phone during the day, and then I’d wake up at 2am when he got into bed, we BD-ed, went back to sleep, and I got up for work a couple hours later. It sucked. It’s lucky it happened for us when it did, because we were both tired of romanceless sex.

the month i conceived DH was away working for the entire 5 weeks before….he came back for a total of 4 days during that time (two 2 day visits). we had sex once each visit and obviously one of those times did the trick! we werent charting or anything
the point is sperm can survive for about 5 days, the egg 2 days (or did i invent that) so even if you feel youre doing it a bit early or late youre in with a chance
