Oh, I had a whole reply typed out and lost it!  Poo.  Anyway, the other bees will chime in, but for starters:

1) Congrats!!!

2) grab a jar of prenatals

3) have fun with it for a couple months before worrying about OPKs and all, unless you’re really trying for a baby immediately.  Charting is helpful, and the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is recommended a lot for that.

4) Pee on a stick(POAS) when your period is due, or at least 10 days after ovulating.  If you think you’ll be a compusilve tester – and there’s a big club of us in that group lol – is amazing.  However, the First Response Early Result tests (drugstore) will get you the earliest result most of the time.

Have fun!

The only thing you need to take now are prenatals. Start those right away.

Doing OPKs is totally up to you. I’ve been using them, but I’m also almost 31 so we’d like to get pregnant sooner rather than later. I bought the Wondfo brand from Amazon. You could also just get the Fertility Friend app which will give you a rough idea of when your most fertile window should be.

Technically I think you’re supposed to wait until a missed period to test for pregnancy, but many people do it earlier and get positives. I took a bunch early last month because I had such weird symptoms but they were all BFN, womp womp. This month I’ll try to hold off. 😛

Long time TTCer here. I echo what others have said, get started on those prenatals! Other than that, I think it entirely depends on your personality. If you are ok with taking your time and just letting things happen naturally, then just go on as normal. Have lots of great sex! Make it fun! Don’t take a test unless your period is actually late. Testing can make a sane girl lose her damn mind.

If that’s not working and you start to get antsy, or you’re a type A and need to have some semblance of control of this (even though that’s nearly impossible.. oy) pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and a BBT thermometer and start charting. You’ll quickly see your ovulation/fertile window patterns and can pinpoint baby making time.

I hope that you don’t have to wait too long for your BFP (Big Fat Positive!) and that your TTC journey is a short one!! Good luck!! This is a great place for support. I have been here for years and love this group of ladies.
