DH and I were gonna start TTC Fall 2012, but we've moved it up to this summer! I'm finishing up my last pill pack now to let my cycles regulate. It's starting to become more of a reality now! Yikes!
Anyone else going to start trying this summer? When will you be pulling the goalie? ;)
ME (*raises hand :) )... We are going to start this summer as well.... "Goalie" will be pulled on July 7th ;)
Good Luck!!!! Here's hoping for a short TTC process!!!!
We're there with you, as well. We haven't decided which month to start actively TTC, but it will be betwen June and the beginnin of August. Because I'm stretch a new job at the beginning of August, I'd like to have as much time in my job as possible before any baby arrives, but I will also be 30 in June, so we want to get started asap. I'm thinking July will be our first real month of TTC. So excited!! It still seems like forever, especially since I know that statistically we're probably going to be trying a few months before I get KU. That said, July is only 5 short months away. :). After discovering that website, Shape of a mother website, I'm trying to really get in tip top shape before getting PG!
I stopped taking BC pills in Oct. because I felt SO awful all the time. Btw, life after the pill is so much better! I think we will probably stop using other methods after I ovulate at the beginning of June.
I think we'll be starting this summer! I'm going off the pill in May, and then it's just up to DH to decide when he feels ready... having an exact date in mind makes me impatient and he feels pressured, so we don't have a strict timeline, but he has said he thinks that's when he'll be ready...
@smores: I've def had a low sex drive being on the pill, so I'm hoping that will increase. I've heard from several people that they feel so much better being off the pill so I'm hoping that's true for me too. Eeek kinda nervous!
@finnaroo: We don't have an exact date either. We're thinking July, but we'll see when the time comes. Could be sooner, could be later. I def don't want to stress over it.
Summer? I'm so jealous! DH and I are going to start TTC in fall/winter of this year, but I just wanted to pop in and say YAY for y'all!!! :)
@skipper2010: SO. TRUE. Seriously, that was one of my biggest complaints. I was newly married and had zero drive. Also, BC made me feel depressed and physically tired and achy. Blech. I predict you will be in love with how you feel when you do get off the pill! It was seriously a matter of days before I noticed a big difference.
It's so comforting and fun that all of you are in the same place that we are! It makes the waiting not seem so lonely! Do you ever think about how strange it is that if TTC goes well, we could all be a month or two away from having a baby by this time next year? Crazy!
Here's to a BFP for everyone here in the next year!
Hi Bees!
I love that i can be a part of this topic! :) I am on my last pack of BCP (ending end of Feb) and hoping that gives me some time to adjust. I am also newly married (June 2011) and my drive in the bedroom is just disgusting low. I hate the way they make me feel and am totally ready to get rid of them! We are thinking we'll start trying Aug (more of a NTNT in Aug) and actively start TTC in September.
YAY! And yes - totally crazy that by this time next year we could all be expecting!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is everyone using for protection in the months off BC but not TTC? We really aren't going to be doing anything but the PO method. I'm sure that's not the safest but neither of us really want to use anything else.
Also, is anyone here NOT planning on charting? I just feel like it's not for me, and when we're ready we'll just start trying and test our luck. I just feel like it would take the "fun" out of the process, add more pressure etc.
The countdown is on!! :)
@smores: Do you ever think about how strange it is that if TTC goes well, we could all be a month or two away from having a baby by this time next year? Crazy! <--- Ahhh that just gave me chills! :)
@StaceyA: We also plan on just using the PO method. I know it's not the MOST effective, but if you use it correctly I've heard it can be just as effective as condoms. Also, like you, I'm not planning on charting. I just want to BD ALOT and see what happens. Obviously that could change, but that's my plan for now. And YAY that you're on your last pill pack too!!
The goalie will be pulled around the last week in June!!! Wanted to wait until after the honeymoon, so I don't have to deal with AF :)
Hi Ladies!
I'm movin over to this board... we were planning to start this month but my company changed its policies and now mat. leave is completely unpaid so we wanted to have more in our savings than we did :(
Oh well...I'm trying to focus on exciting things so this board helped me! We're firing our goalie in June!
I'm charting, but mostly because I wanted to make sure I was ovulating and that my cycle lengths were regular after coming off BCP. I wanted to do that since I'm going to be a little older when we start, and I've had several friends that had infertility issues, thus I'm paranoid. Also, charting means that I know when it's safe to not use condoms, which is our primary BC method right now.
Does anyone else look at baby stuff and nursery ideas already? I'm kind of embarrassed about it, but I totally created a Pinterest board for "Someday-Littles."
I stopped taking my BC the end of December, then we moved into our first home! We aren't 'trying', but we aren't stopping anything! (if that makes sense.....)
So I think we may be a little ahead of everyone here.... but good luck to everyone!
@smores: I have definitely been doing a lot of "googling" about all things baby... nursery ideas, other information... sales on ovulation kits and where the best place to find them are at etc. DH and i bounce names off each other lots and just hoping that it happens this year!! :) So excited. I am totally tempted to go and buy cute baby stuff (we will be team green!) but decided against it...it will be a nice reward to shop for that stuff when it's really time!
Are any bees doing anything special to pass the time?
AHHH!! Our wedding is in April, and we want to start TTC at the end of summer!! I quit the pill, and have been on prenatals since November. I just had my followup with my gyno today and FH went with me, and she said everything looks good...just need to take more vitamin D and get my teeth cleaned again!
Yay for baby rabies!!!
@skipper2010: I am totally excited to see what changes are in store after this pill pack is done... congrats to you too!! I think i'll feel like a whole new human LOL. Let's hope so!!!!
Has everone started their prenatals yet? i have been on them since November and feeling good. i just want to get this show on the road!!
Can't wait to share all the ups and downs with fellow bees in the same boat. My DH and i are heading to Europe in September for one last trip before children and hoping we get knocked up while we're over there... just thought it would be an awesome story LOL!!!
@StaceyA: Yep I have started taken prenatals....it's been about a year now.... this is very exciting....maybe we can all check back in over the summer and fall to share our progress..... :)
@StaceyA: My OBGYN said to just make sure I'm taking a vitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid. So, because vitamins generally make me lose my cookies . . . I'm taking adult gummies plus a folic acid supplement which gets me up to the 800 mcg that I think most prenatals have. I am NOT looking forward to making the switch to real prenatals once i'm pg. I hope they don't make me throw up more than I would be anyway!
As for how we're passing the time, we're planning a trip to Puerto Rico and just doing a lot of things that might be more difficult after we're married!
Ooh, me too! The goalie will be pulled in June. We're still deciding between starting to try right away (July) or waiting until January but I have a feeling it will be sooner than later!
I'm glad I found this thread. If all goes as planned, we will start TTC in August!
How are you all handling the waiting to TTC? I'm so excited I just want these next few months to fly by. I'm trying to keep busy, but it's all I can think about!
I'm going to jump in here too. We pulled the goalie in Aug, planning for a spring TTC date, but my job chagned that, so we're looking at July/Aug now, at the earliest, but that could change, based on if I get extended, or put on a long term contract.
I'm a maybe! We will start as early as August or as late as January. We're going to try to take a euro-trip before we start, but the timing will depend on work.
So glad this thread came alive again! We sort of did a NTNT approach this month, and I was SO hoping that it would somehow work and I wouldn't have to wait. Alas, no luck as AF is expected. It was so fun to feel like we had a chance and now I'm even more psyched for summer to get here so we can get to baby making. :) Due to a job situation, we definitely won't be able to try again until July or August. Then, we plan on going full steam ahead.
How are all your DHs feeling about TTC? Mine really wants to be a dad and is completely cool with starting this summer. BUT, he sooo doesn't get why I already want to read blogs/books/everything I can get my hands on about babies! He just wants us to relax and not think about it or anything until it's go time. I'm a planner, and I don't play that way! Do any of you want to plan, research, etc. WAY more than your DH?
Summer here too! We are going away the first week of June..so that will mark the beginning of TTC!
@smores: My DH says he is ready, but when I showed him the bottle of Pre-natals I bought the other day..he looked a little suprised lol..but he can't wait to be a daddy.
@smores: DH is taking a laid back approach to the whole TTC thing. He's excited, but he doesn't want to overthink it. For me though, it's pretty much all I can think about! Especially with close friends/family members announcing their pregnancies left and right! I'm trying real hard to keep myself busy and distracted lol
@bride2bejc: It looks like we will start in June too. I'm in a wedding in May, and should probably wait until after....if I can. ;)
We wil be trying middle of August right after the wedding. I will be taking prenatals starting next month and I also read that you should read "what to expect when your expecting" before your actually expecting so you can be prepared for anything that will happen before it happens.
We are hoping to start trying around July when we get back from our honeymoon.
DH thinks it will just happen as for the most part we eat healthily and exercise most days and also most of our friends have had no trouble at all getting pregnant but I am more cautious.
@smores: Same! I am constantly reading blogs and looking at things and my DH thinks its a little strange but he has said he can't wait to be a dad. I am also a big planner.
We have not been actively TTC, but we fired the goalie over a year ago. That makes me super nervous that something is up - but we are going to get tested and make sure everything is all set to go to start TTC July 22nd.
Does anyone else feel like they don't have anyone to talk to about this stuff (besides us bees?!).
DH and I decided we aren't going to be telling either of our families or any of our friends our TTC plan (starting Aug/Sept this year). I have told 1 friend of mine who is currently pregnant but I really don't have anyone else to get excited with. I have 3 sisters (1 sister and 2 SIL's) and know they would ALL be super excited, but don't want them to be continually asking/expecting news... we want to surprise them. We just don't want the pressure of everyone asking "are you pregnant yet? how about now? still nothing?". LOL. Would much rather just shock everyone with the news if/when it happens.
Anyone else in the same boat? :(
@Ashley1001: We are the same as you! it would be ideal if we got a bfp in the summer, but arent preventing it from happening now!
yay!
@StaceyA: same boat!
we are keeping tight lips about everything, too. DH really doesnt see it as big of a deal as i do, though so he wouldn't blabber on like I would anyway.
its HARD to keep it to yourself. my mom and a few friends know i stopped bcp in Feb, but they dont know we aren't using other methods of protection!
@smores: me! i'm a major planner and have really tried to rein that in and enjoy the ntnt process! we are only one month in though, ha! give me a few more months and i'll prob be a walking encyclopedia on things!
