Nickig_4:  Possibly. Actually it might be best not to let it ‘drip out’ right away anyway. My doctor recommended to stay laying down afterward for awhile, even put a pillow under my hips to force everything ‘up’ I guess. Maybe take some time after the deed to chill in bed with a book?

I would not use a tampon after sex if you’re TTC.

What goes in must come out… I would avoid unecessary tampon usage personally. I just let it come out naturally. Yes, it’s kinda gross. But oh well. Just wait till you get pregnant, there’s a lot of changes that come with pregnancy…

This happens to me all the time. I lay there for like 30 mins then just put a pad in.

Nickig_4:  You don’t HAVE to lay there afterwards to get pregnant…plenty of people get pregnant without doing that. You could shower right afterwards. Or you could put a panty-liner in. Or you could put a soft cup (like Instead) in for a bit. Good luck!

You can try a soft cup or menstrual cup.  If it makes you feel better, you can lay in bed afterwards…but you don’t need to!

Nickig_4:  I’m sure 15 mins is fine! Plenty of people get pregnant without laying there at all. I don’t lay there every time either though, but usually it’s right before bed so I don’t get up until the next day anyway but still deal with the leakage problem the next day so I just put in a pad.

You don’t need to lie down for 20 minutes afterwards with your hips elevated, but it doesn’t hurt either.  😉

Definitely don’t use a tampon.  Using a tampon any time you’re not on your period is bad practice anyway.  It can give you Toxic Shock Syndrome.  Use a pad or pantyliner instead.  I would often take a shower afterwards if things were particularly messy.

Not to be too gross, but when he ejaculates into you, the sperm should quickly find its way through your cervix and into your uterus.  They continue traveling up into your fallopian tubes where they meet an egg.  The semen that leaks out of you usually no longer contains any/much sperm.  So if some stuff is leaking out on its own, that’s normal and to be expected.  What goes in must come out.  But you shouldn’t be actively trying to push the semen out of you by doing kegels.  THAT can make the sperm leak out too, which would obviously not result in pregnancy.  Hope that helps.
