Been there! Similar situation – I finished my graduate degree in Washington State and moved to Virginia for a job in December. DH stayed behind in Washington for one more semester and moved to Virginia in May. We would see each for a week out of each month (rough times!). We started TTC in January and actually hit my FW most months, but without a BFP. It was our June cycle that took – the first one after DH moved to Virginia. We joke it was finally being together for good that convinced baby Matthew he should stick around. 🙂  Living apart sucks, especially when trying to start a family, but you get through it! Good luck!!

We are both in the navy and DH sails (I don’t). He was in port near by for a weekend and it was in my FW, so I drove up and spent the weekend with him, and now we have a 4 month old! It can work, and especially since you’ve been a charter for so long, you’ll have a better idea of when your FW is and if a visit is needed. 😉

A friend of mine who is about a week behind me, (I’m 19 weeks pregnant, she’s 18 weeks) and her husband were living apart due to their careers when they concieved.  It wasn’t easy, but they would try to be together during her fertile period whenever possible.  I know sometimes she would be frustrated because he would have to leave right when she was ovulating.

On the other hand, DH and I live together.  Yet there were many times during peak fertility that our work schedules didn’t line up, or one of us wasn’t feeling well, etc.  Living together may make things a bit easier logistically, but there can still be roadblocks!  Both my friend and I took a while to conceive, but interestingly enough, both of us conceived on a cycle when we thought we had totally missed the window of opportunity.  So don’t give up hope!
