Tucson Vendor Warning

posted 7 months ago in Beehive

Hey everybody! Just thought i'd put up a quick warning for anybody in my hometown.

I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against Maribelle Cakery a few days ago.  I wrote a whole long post about it, but decided it was a bit too longwinded (and too local) to put on the blog.

Basically, they took a deposit from us and never called.  EVER.  And when we called them to discuss our cake, they wouldn't take our calls.  We left message after message for the owner (who we met with), but she never called.

Obviously, we found a new baker (Jaynie from Ambrosia of Tucson).  And even though the deposit was only fifty bucks, we decided to file a complaint on principle.

Anyway, for any Tucson girls considering Maribelle, you might want to think twice.  Do a Google search on them, and you'll find ours isn't the only complaint.  Turns out, it isn't the first Better Business Bureau complaint, either.

Thanks for the info.  How do you like Ambrosia?

So far, we're really happy with Jaynie (owner/proprieter).  She's given us great, personalized attention, and we're looking forward to our cake.  Her cake, by the way, is delicous.

I'm using Jaynie with Ambrosia and she's really bent over backwards for me. Her cakes are beautiful and different and I was able to coordinate with her daughter a florist next door to do the cake flowers so I know everything should work together. She even had three meetings with me so I'm sure I'm getting what I want. Can't say enough good things ... can't wait to see the cake.
