I love the tulle bottom gowns and I think they make you look skinny in the middle:)  I have a davids bridal t8017 that is a strapless tule and I am a bigger girl with dd cup and I liked the way it looked.  Size 10 isn’t big by the way:)  I would kill to be a size 10:)

Go for it!  I am a size 14, but I will be wearing a ball gown also.  I think it will help hid the bulge in my hips and legs.  (Hopefully!)

All you can do is try it on! I wear about a size 10 and I’m only one cup size larger than you. I thought that that kind of dress "blocked out" my chest and made me look heavy. My figure completely disappeared. I was not happy! I thought a dropped waist looked better on me, but i’m on the long side, so a "natural" waist for an average height girl was actually higher on my waist so it squatted me out.

Try it on! If you do’nt love it, there are lots of other style dresses that have full skirts. I think a lot of it depends on the back of the dress. The zip up full skirt dresses all that had effect on me, but I Tried on some really big ballgowns with a corset back that were great for my figure. I ended up wtih a slim A-line though. It’s tough to move in those!

You never know until you put it on! I hope it looks fab and you get exactly what you want!

Depends on your height for ballgown if I recall correctly, and dress size and chest size aren’t a factor.  I know a girl who’s 5’10" size 12 large chest – looked phenomenal in the Ballgown!

Ball gowns can make people look skinnier! They are awesome at hiding your hips and stuff, and the bodice will suck you up. If you’re worried, look for something with a halter top maybe to balance out the large chest?

I agree – ball gowns are REALLY flattering for curvier bodies because they hide your hips in the exagerated skirt, and give you a GREAT waist.  If you have a larger chest – the ballgown will give you a beautiful hour glass shape.

Go try it on!

Ah… How I long for a ball gown!  It’s worth a shot.  Plus tulle is really comfy and lightweight — all the better to twirl the night away in.

I have a tulle strapless ball gown for sale if anyone is interested.  I have never worn it or altered it.  It is size 18 and asking $400 for it.  I love the dress it just doesn’t fit anymore.  We had to cancel our wedding due to illness so I will have to get a new one when we plan a new date:)   Let me know if anyone interested.  [email protected]
