Currently, my husband has a black tungsten ring. He keeps getting questions as to why his wedding band is black, so we are talking about getting a new one from him that is the same color as mine so he doesn’t have to defend the one he has.
What are your oppinions on tungsten? We have looked into all types of metals, and gold is so flemsy and he is very rough with his hands, so I know it will end up bent and warped. Tungsten is also a lot less expensive, but I want something we can both be proud of.
Here is the one he has now. Pictures of your favorite mens rings are welcome!

My FI got a Tungsten band. He went to school for metallurgy so he pretty much knew what he wanted before we went looking (and actually taught the guy at the jewelry store a little more about metals haha) He likes Tungsten because it’s less likely to scratch, however it WILL shatter quite easily if you drop it on a very hard floor. He got a very simple and smooth band.
That being said, I really like your husband’s band!

My husband has a Tungsten ring. We love it. His has a celtic knot pattern on it to reflect his irish heritage. It is darker than gold, but that is just fine with us. It is beautiful in it’s uniquness. I really love the black ones. Here is a pictures of my husband’s ring:

My husband’s band is gold-plated tungsten. It has held up quite nicely for over a year with not a single scratch on it. I am pretty impressed! He never takes it off and he loves it, so it works very nicely for us.

I wonder why people question the color. My Fi’s ring is black, my brother in law has a black one and my brother had a black one with his first marrage.

My husband has a tungsten ring, but his is a dark grey. He loves his. I like it too!

FH wants a tungsten ring. As a welder he needs something that can easily be removed if there’s an accident. His ring will look like MrsFuzzyFace’s DH’s ring without the Celtic pattern.

FI just got his ring in the mail yesterday… he said he likes it but I won’t be able to see it until timorrow when he tries it on! He loved having a two-toned ring and I’m hoping it turned out ok. I love the look of tungsten, although I like the brushed silver look a little better than the black look, but having both is good I think. And as long as FI loves it, I really don’t have to (although I do like it and cannot wait to see it in person!!)

We bought a two toned Titanium ring for my FI, tungsten was too heavy. It’s Silver and black. I say if he likes it black who cares what people think!!?!!

My husband has a tungsten band. He loves it! He wanted something that wouldn’t scratch easily and wouldn’t bend if he was a little rough on it (his sterling silver engagement ring bent a few times during the time he wore it). We got him the silvery kind of tungsten band, but black was his second choice. I’ve seen several guys with black tungsten bands, it’s strange that he has to defend it so much.

My Dh has a tungsten ring with a paladium inlay.

If your husband loves his ring, don’t change it just because other people don’tlike it.
My FI picked out a tungsten band. it’s shiney on the edges and has a matte finish in the middle. It looks great. Doesn’t match mine AT ALL. lol. Oh well.

We initially looked at Tungsten, but there were 2 issues for us. 1)super heavy (and DH isn’t used to wearing any ring, so not so comfy) 2) it can shatter. We ended up with a titanium ring. I tried to upload the pic, and it’s too big. : /

@MrsFuzzyFace: FI and I got matching bands that look like your DH’s!

I love a tungsten ring! FI’s engagement ring is tungsten, and it was so cheap! No point spending loads of money on something not suited to him. He likes his ring so much that his wedding band is almost exactly the same, but slightly lighter in colour 🙂
Tungsten is brilliant 🙂
