What are you interested in doing? Personally I think of museums and ancient architecture when I think of Italy … and the baths when I think of Turkey.

I agree; I’d want to do both. If I HAD to choose, as a honeymoon, I know we’d pick Italy as a couple because FI’s dad was born in Italy and his grandfather/ uncle/ cousins live there. If it were up to me I’d have to look into a lot more.

If you’re really split, think of which you might do later, or also factor in price if that matters to you.

I have been to both countries, I live in Italy right now. You really can’t go wrong, but I honestly like the food better in Italy, and there is a lot of natural beauty in both countries. Turkey has some great architectural ruins, and Istanbul is an incredibly interesting city, but Italy also has a lot of history, beauty, etc.

It really depends what you want – but I think either would be great!
