May the DIY games begin! After putting the poll up last week, you guys gave me some direction on some new craft projects … so the first one I did was my shoes. I had the Willow shoe from David’s Bridal, knowing it was boring but not caring because who sees your shoes? But I guess I’ll have to get the obligatory “these are my shoes” picture so I decided to dress em up. I also didn’t want to dye them, since I don’t particularly care for the crazy-colored-shoes-with-the-white-dress thing (I’m not really a shoe person myself, so it would seem weird for me to be in bright blue shoes or something.)
Anyway, the dress is a big white ball gown with lace accents, and my main wedding color is sapphire blue to match my ring. I figure I’ll get my toenails painted in a bright royal blue to match the rhinestone accents I added to the shoes. What do you think?
Here’s the front of the shoe, with the non-gussied up version next to it. Covered them b*tches in white lace!
Then, I also covered the wedge heel in lace and added a little rhinestone pattern I bought at Michael’s. The pattern is on both sides of the heel, and then I added those blue rhinestones along the satin ridge for a little color. I must admit, I’m quite pleased with myself (and yes I know I still have to trim up the lace around the bottom!) So here’s the boring and the pretty shoes next to each other.
I’m thinking with blue toenails, it will be just the right amount of accent! Now I just need to do the other one … and then figure out a way to clean up all that E-6000 glue that’s everywhere in the guest bathroom 😉
