I have not but I plan on doing it after my wedding. I have contacted a few artist via Etsy and asked them how their process works. It depends a lot on the artist I think.
Good luck!
If you have photoshop, you can do it yourself. There are a ton of step by step guides. Its actually not hard, and im sure a lot cheaper!
I depends on if you are looking for a "digital painting" or a "real painting". A digital painting is just a series of effects and will look like it (and in my opinion these look kind of cheesy). An actual painting will look a lot nicer (depending on the artist chosen) but probably cost a bit more.
I plan on having my dad do it. He is insanely tallented and I am thinking it would make a perfect Christmas or birthday present!

Has anyone used a service that turns a photograph into a painting? If so, how did it turn out and how much did it cost? How did the process work?
