A good friend of mine just did this and she had a bit of a spanish/vintage theme going with it. and she used lots of white flowers to off-set the bright colors. We scoured an antique mall for old books and I filled all of the candles for her at my shop. It turned out beautifully.

I love it! Think its very cool. I love the vintage/spanish idea :) Thanks for the input. Is this picture from her wedding? Would love if you have more!!
You don't have to have a theme, but if you want you could incorporate anything you like.

I don't think you *need* to have a theme - if you just like the colors, go with them! But if you want one, the wine theme is fun :)
there is a bee on here, Prewitt, who had a tiffany blue and red wedding and her decor was gorgeous! check out her recaps.

and i like the wine idea. wine as a favor is about as good as it gets for a guest i think!
Yep! These are from her wedding. She also wore turquoise Louboutin's and the red soles really helped finish the look ;)
Unfortunately i dont have any more pictures that don't have her and guests in them, and I don't feel right about pimping everyone out like that.
Mine was malibu blue and red, so pretty close to turquoise depending on who you ask lol :)
I love your color combo. I think the wine stuff would work out great especially if you go with a deep red instead of a bright red.
I'm doing these too! though I'm calling it aqua lol :) I agree with everyone else, you don't HAVE to have a theme, I've just found its helped me. But mine is Wizard of Oz, so I'm not sure I'll be much help haha.
If you're planning on doing your bridesmaid dresses in aqua/turquoise, try David's Bridal's "malibu" its really pretty. Here's my bridesmaid dresses, and then my MOH dress with an added red sash {she was going to be in their "ruby" shade of red, but they discontinued it before she could order anything}
I'm sure whatever you come up with will be beautiful!

{the second picture is from my cell phone which is why the colors look different. its the same dress, taken minutes apart lol}
My wedding was red and turquoise (robin's egg/aqua/whatever you want to call it)
We didn't really have a theme persay--we used books and scrabble tiles, so kinda nerdy, and also parasols and origami cranes so a bit of asian influence as well.
I think the wine theme could totally work, but you don't have to overdo a theme, just go with stuff you both love and that expresses who you are, that's what your guests will really appreciate.

Amazingly good vanilla and red velevet cupcakes made by my baker step-SIL with hand made marshmallow fondant flowers! Seriously!

@kala_way: LOVE your anenomes! I think those are what I'm going to end up using since I can't get poppies :-/ ... they're the closest thing. Those cupcakes looked amazing! Congrats, you looked beautiful! :)
Our colors were red, aqua and champagne. We didn't have a theme either, but we wanted it fun, but elegant. Not sure if it worked, but we loved it!

Hello Bees,
For the longest time, I have been set on my colors turquoise and red. I love the way they look together and very modern. One of the problems that I have been having is linking a "theme" to it. We thought about doing some wine theme stuff, but I dont know if it would look terrible. For example, mini wine favors for the guests, having the seating cards placed onto a cork, and naming the different tables with the different names of wines. Wondering if anyone out there has any ideas or has had the colors turquoise and red for their wedding. Any input would be amazing!!
Thanks :)
