My colors for my wedding are going to be green and chocolate brown (I haven't decided on sage green or apple green yet). Well, I am debating between green or brown bridesmaid dresses and am having a really hard time saying "yes" to black tuxes for the guys. Would it be too matchy matchy if the guys wore chocolate brown tuxes? Any advice will be welcomed! Thanks!
When considering colors...think about how easy/difficult, cheap/costly each option will be for you and your wedding party. Brown tuxes might look great but might also be hard to find and/or expensive. Good luck!
Brown tux at Tuxedo Junction. They are really becoming easier to find since they are so HOT! I'm having the same issue with that decision. I've already got brown BM dresses and haven't decided if brown tuxes for the GM are going to be too much. I personally loved the brown tuxes, and wish I'd gone with different colored BM dresses. We're going with either brown or tan tux for the GM...still haven't decided. I vote apple green and for you to do the dresses in that color too.
I was having the same dilemma. I thougnt brown dresses with brown tuxes would be too matchy, but that black tuxes would look weird with brown dresses (too dark). But I saw lots of photos with brown/black and it looked just fine, so I went with it. I do have to say, if you're having your wedding in August, what about off-white or khaki suits/tuxes? I'm getting married in an evening wedding in Oct, so I thought that light colored suits would be off season and not formal enough, but REALLY would have loved the guys in some nice khaki suits. It's so classic, yet comfy at the same time...
Our Groomsmen are wearing Chocolate suits and the ladies are wearing Ann Taylor Meadow Green. I am very happy with the color palette. I was considering the brown tuxes, but had a very hard time locating them... Good Luck!
we originally were going with brown tuxes until we saw the one we "wanted" in person. quickly dropped that idea (a bit too milk chocolate for our taste)
we wanted more of a "bark" color. and didnt see that, so we went with a black tux with a Venetian vest in Chocolate. Cardi Collection.
this vest combines the Chocolate and black together so that the guys will compliment the expresso bm dresses but will still remain classic years down the road (a concern of my uncle)
Jim's Formal wear was the only mass retailer we found that carried the brown tuxes. we needed a mass retailer bc all the guys are spread all over.
I also have those colors. We are thinking celery/kiwi/apple & chocolate, so we will probably do green dresses & brown tuxes...I also worry about them being too light. I think Al's & Men's Warehouse both have them, too. Let me know what you decide!
In my opinion, brown tuxes don't really date well (think of the 70s), whereas black tuxes do. It is possible to wear black tuxes and brown/green vests, so it's all good :)
