Not at all. I think that's so thoughtful and sweet of your grandfather to make that gesture! Also, I think it will be nice that he stands out, in a good way, from the groom and groomsmen.
I actually like when the person walking the bride down the aisle does not match the rest of the groomsmen. I made that mistake years ago and put my father in the same tux as all the groomsmen. The problem was that the more youthful tux and colorful tie and accents looked kind of silly on my father who was in his 60's. My FIL wore a classic black suit and actually looked much better than my dad. I always felt bad about it.
I agree with the others. I think he'll look distinguished because he looks different from the GMs. Super sweet!
Thats not weird at all.. I think its perfectly fine for him to wear a suite.. Dont you even worry about that..
Our grooms man are not wearing a tux also.. We came to that conclusion today. Our wedding is going to be in CA in JULY.. thats like having it in hell..lol.. well not that bad.. So we decided that neither my FI or th GM will wear a tux.
My MOH is wearing a Espresso color dress so the her GM will wear black pants with a apple green<-- (color) button up shirt and a brown tie.. My second bridemaid is wearing green apple dress and her GM is wearing black pants and brown buttom up shirt with a green apple tie.. We just figured it will be a nice remix and the guys wont have to die in the suites..

My fiance and his groomsmen are wearing tuxes. My grandfather is walking me down the aisle and went out and bought a brand new expensive suit for the wedding. Do you think it will look bad to have the guys in a tux and my grandfather in a suit?
