Weddingbee boards

I keep thinking about this, so decided it was time to get some other opinions. We're opting for the guys to rent tuxes for the wedding.  My FI and I finally went looking last month, and I was sort of disappointed by what we found.  Namely, I want the guys to wear a long tie (not bow tie), but I really hate the pre-fab clip on ties that come with the rentals.  They just look silly to me. I was thinking that I might just buy the guys ties, but I'm afraid it will be hard to coordinate with a rented vest.  The tux without the vest just didn't look right to me (something seemed unfinished about the shirt tucked into the pants with no belt).

So, my question to you all is this--if you rented tuxes, what did you do about the ties?  Anyone buy a tie and coordinate it with the rented pieces?  Did you just use the clipons and were they okay?  Also any specific suggestions would be great, because I'm having a hard time deciding what direction to go colorwise.  Our colors are chocolate brown and granny smith apple green.  BMs are in chocolate brown. Tuxes are black.  FI will be in ivory vest and tie.  It's funny...I did not think that ties would be what kept me up at night thinking!

I may look into another tux shop--we're kind of limited because we're getting married in my hometown in one state, FI and I are in a long-distance engagement in two other states(yuck), and all the groomsmen are in still other states!  We chose a major retailer so they could all get measured locally.  I actually ended up ordering some swatches of the ties/vests so that I can try to match a real tie on my own.  Now just have to decide if the guys will be in brown or green...
