Is anyone as obsessed with TV on DVD as I am?  I am just now "discovering" GREAT shows that have been on for 3, 4, 5 seasons & am so thrilled that my addication can be fufilled by daily Netflix deliveries.

Shows I've been watching during this boring TV off season:

    The Office

    30 Rock

How I Met Your Mother (which, by the way, is the best freakin' show out there right now!)

Do any of you watch full seasons in one sitting?  Not that I do that or anything... ;)

ahhh! yes! we are obsessed with Prison Break! I actually watched every episode since the first when it came on TV, but missed the last few of the final season because of the wedding. Hubby used to always make fun of me for watching, but once we got season 1-- he was hooked! now it's our everyday thing and we have to get a fix of at least 2 episodes at a time.

We're almost done and are now looking for a new addiction! I'm thinking Alias! (and I also have grey's on dvd) :)

I love TV on DVD. For some reason, I don't like sitting around and watching a 2 hour movie but I'll sit through 4 or 5 hour-long episodes of TV on DVD at a time. Makes no sense!

Have you seen Dexter? You can watch the first 2 seasons right on Netflix! It's an awesome show.

Yes!  We don't have cable, so we love TV on DVD!

Just finished watching the first season of True Blood, and the first and second seasons of Mad Men.

We're on the second season of Weeds right now!

For the record, How I Met Your Mother is pretty much my favorite show ever! :)

We definitely watch TV shows on DVD.  I love being able to go through multiple episodes all at once, instead of having to wait weeks at a time for a new episode.  We just got into watching "Psych", so I think we'll probably rent the previous seasons of that and watch it next.  I've never been able to watch an entire season in one sitting, but maybe 5-6 episodes!

We LOVE TV on DVD...or just the recorded episodes on your cable box so that you can fast forward through commercials.  We watch Grey's, Desperate Housewives, Rescue Me, The Shield, Heroes...all this way, just to name a few.

And yes, we've watched an entire season in a weekend before.  We'll get really into it, and then the disc will be over and FI will INSIST on running to Blockbuster to get the next disc.

    Too funny!

HIMYM!  We're hooked, too!  I think it's actually going to be weird to watch episodes at the same time everyone else is watching them.  We've been just sitting down in a weekend and watching a whole season at one time!  We started this way with The Office, too.  We got hooked after watching Seasons 1, 2, and 3 in one week.  :)

Yep!  We just caught up on Entourage in less than 3 weeks - helps they are 30 minute shows and only 13 episodes a season but I wish there were more!  I have all the seasons of Felicity, Gossip Girl, OTH and Roswell on DVD too :)

@ naangel - Ok, we love Roswell.  :)  We never watched the show when it was on tv, but we own all the dvds now.  I wish it was still on!  Roswell is awesome!

Arrested Development is another good show to watch on DVD.

You can get a lot of these DVD series at your library too! I got a few but then I didn't have time for anything else. If I feel like watching any shows after the season ends, I just watch on my laptop. www.Hulu.com!

Yeah, I've had to watch most of the The Office this season on Hulu - they put up 4 new episodes every so often.  I can't wait for the "real" season to start!

As for HIMYM, we're only on Season 2.  There is no way we'll catch up in time.  Should I just skip a couple seasons??  Oh, the agony associated with such a decision!

YES! We got into LOST by watching the first few seasons on DVD. Now we're totally addicted (and I honestly might cry when their final episode airs next May).

I saw the first season of Lost on DVD the weekend before the premiere of Season 2. It spoiled  me big time.

I also watched the first 4 seasons of 24 on DVD and that was overkill. I got so stressed I couldn't sleep for a while.

I also watch HBO On Demand to discover new shows. Saw the first season of True Blood that way and now I'm hooked.

Yeah, we are pretty obsessed with TV on DVD! We're currently watching Nip/Tuck - and I definitely think it's really weird once you catch up to the show you're watching and suddenly have to start watching it only once a week when it's actually on - depressing!!!

We watch a lot of TV on DVD too! HIMYM is our favorite right now. We also caught up on the office before last season started.

Anything from HBO!!! There is no way we could justify paying for HBO so we watch all the shows on DVD... it's a bit painful hearing people talk about shows (like if Entourage is currently on TV) since we have to try not to hear what happens in the shows :)

Oh, you're singing my song. My current obsession is True Blood (just about to finish season 1!) and then after that I want to start watching How I Met Your Mother. I've never seen it, but I am madly in love with Jason Segel!

I second Pengy- HBO and Showtime shows rock. Weeds is AMAZING as is Entorage.

And yes, I heart HIMYM. HILARIOUS.

I prefer TV on DVD over movies, lol. I tend to get into shows after they are already a season in. So far, we have Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The Office, HIMYM (which I'm watching now!), Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City, West Wing, Firefly (his), Friends, and some others. I also just got into Mad Men through it. On Demand also helps fuel this fire!

Loooove TV on DVD! When I was in college, I had a job that sometimes required me to be in my room for 24 hours on-call. Let's not even pretend that I wasn't loading a season of tv into my DVD player. I own: West Wing, Sex and the City, Dawson's Creek, OC, Grey's Anatomy, etc.

Currently catching up on: Gossip Girl, Greek, Seasons 3-5 of Grey's, Season 5 of the Office, Seasons 3&4 of the OC. So great! It's definitely some me time.

@Quiche - I got hooked on 30 Rock after I getting hooked on Tina Fey's special guest appearances on SNL last fall. I love having a TV show to watch again! Past favorites of TV on DVDs are... Friends (always funny, after all this time), Firefly, Star Trek: TNG, Gilmore Girls... the list could go on!
