Like most American women, I love a good episode of SYTTD. As a bigger girl I was super excited to watch the new SYTTD: Big Bliss despite hating the name and feeling like hey, just put more chubby girls in the normal show! Anyway, I told BF and asked if we could please go to the gym last night later so I could watch the premier on my treadmill. We don’t have cable you see. He knows of my love of SYTTD so he agreed and knew I was somewhat (okay ridiculously) excited to have a full hour to watch. Eek!
So he came over to see how it was (and to check on the score of the Twins game, let’s not lie) and I told him, “it’s great! and look at that man, do you see that one? she’s getting her dress but she doesn’t have her ring yet and he’s gonna ask her when she picks a dress!” I’m pretty sure his response was, “oh, well done.” Off he went to lift some heavy weights on the other side of the room and I carried on watching.
I don’t know about you guys but I can’t see a proposal (a real one) without crying like a fool. Even some tv-planned proposals get me. So of course when this guy knelt down in the store and the girl was all shocked and her consultant was shocked and Randy was beaming with delight I was welling up/approaching small sobs of delight. I figured it was no big deal, I was running and there was sweat running down my face, no one would ever know the difference because at 8 on a Friday night there are 3 other people in the gym. Sneaky BF though. He comes over to do some stretching and some ab work which is located behind the treadmills. Apparently he was back there watching my machine because he managed to appear just as the proposal was in full swing and I am in full tear-jerker mode. Gah! I tried to shoo him away and he just laughed and carried on watching and then when it was over gave me this cute little smile and patted my arm like, “it’s okay that you’re a giant emotional sap, I don’t mind.” GAH again!
Men should not sneak up on you when there’s emotional television on. Don’t they know better????
