I know that there are heated views over twilight in general...
Did you see Bella's dress?
O....M.....G......
I'm knocked out with its uniqueness and splendor.
(Yes, I just got home from the midnight showing, EST)
http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2011/11/17/bella-wedding-dress-replica-breaking-dawn-where-to-buy/
They will have replicas of the dress! (I havent seen it yet though)
It's not my style at all...but its perfection. I just can't get over it. I was setting myself up to be disappointed, but I'm just in awe!
I'm embarassed to be posting this.
Anyway, I thought her dress was gorgeous, but I didn't feel like it was flattering (and she's a stick!). I think the front was satin and it showed every contour of her body. While Edward was walking her to see Jacob I thought I could see her nipples and belly button. Maybe it was made for movie and not lined.
It wasn't the dress I pictured in my head from reading the books...but it was stunner. I bet the replicas are gonna fly off the shelf and fit NO ONE correctly because you'd have to have a model's body to wear it. Geez.
I skipped out on the midnight showing but plan on seeing it tomorrow. Now I'm even more excited about seeing the wedding portion
Cant wait to see it! Swore to never get sucked into all the hype. BUT got super bored last year and started reading the books and got hooked! Really great and I love the movies to. Sadly FI really likes the movies too and he is never into love stories lol! He says for the action haha!
I promise...whatever image you have in your head, extrapolate that x1000. Lots of surprises! That's why I'm still awake right now!!!! So glad I'm lucky enough to have tomorrow off work.
It definitely wasn't what I got from the book but It was goregous. However, I like the first dress they showed her in better. (The one from the dream.)
I wish I had gone to see it--I'm SO SICK. I never miss the midnight openings. I woke up to an email from Alfred Angelo saying, "See Bella's Dress Today" and then it opens to an ad for the movie. I was so excited, and then nothing! BAH-
Has anyone got a picture yet? I'm always interested in seeing other people's dresses!
@SpecialSundae: Someone surely has bit torrented it by now--I personally don't do it, but really?!
@Carnival_Bride: I'm surprised too... all the rabid fans have seen it- it's not a secret anymore.
@danicalifornia: I'm going to see it tonight and I'm kind of tempted to whip my phone out to snap a shot. Pretty sure Summit Entertainment would sue me and fine me about $1 billion.
I didn't like it at all... the back made it look like her spine was sticking out the front had strange lines that looked wrong and the sleeves and tight fitting style were not my personal style so I couldn't get into it.
I did LOVE that she changed into a send off dress for the end of the wedding because I'm doing that too! XD
@HappilyEverAfter54: I haven't seen it yet, but I have read about it all day. Alfred Angelo is apparently going to release it in "a more flattering cut".
@Carnival_Bride: Please do! lol.
@HappilyEverAfter54: I really want to do a send off dress too- have no idea what it's going to be, just know I don't want to wear my dress and walk through a big hotel lobby...
@Carnival_Bride: I imagine if he's going to pull it off he'll have to at least remove the awkward lines across the front... I think if they hadn't been there and sorry for the spoiler here but the see through back didn't have buttons down it that looked like her spine it would have been much much better =)
@danicalifornia: Were going to a hotel and leaving on a cruise ship in the morning so I dreaded the thought of trying to fit a ball gown in a suitcase lol. I'm wearing this when leaving:
@michkarose: Oh yes I liked the dress in her dream! (Halloween 2012!!!)
@HappilyEverAfter54: That dress is gorgeous. We are wearing our ball gowns for the wedding on the ship and then changing into "send off" dresses for dinner.
Other than the see-through panel on the back, it's very similar to my grandma's wedding dress (although without the 19" waist my grandma had).
it wasn't what i remembered picturing, and nothing i would ever consider wearing...but i thought Bella pulled it off amazingly! she definitely looked stunning in it!
I guess I'll be a Debbie Downer adn say that I didn't like it AT ALL. I didn't see the movie because I'm pretty anti-Twilight and I don't plan to, but I saw the pictures and.... meh. I'm really not impressed.
The back of the dress is gorgeous, her shoes were to die for, and my FI said the front of the dress looked like a power ranger suit lol.
@zippylef: Me either..its not doing K-stew any favors and shes a twig. Bleh.
natbug21 Omg, you FI hit the nail on the head!
I didn't say I LOVED the dress...I just said it was different from anything I've seen before, and the shock factor was great.
okay...I don't think I'd have the patience to stand there while they buttoned me up! I personally don't care for it. I pictured something big and grand on her as I read the book. Guess I got that one wrong! lol
Does anyone have a quality picture? I refuse to see the movie (I've heard it's terrible so I'll just wait and Netflix it) but I want to see the dress and can't find a pic!
I just saw it and I'm blown away that so many of you ladies liked it! I thought it was an awful dress. It looked like her butt was about to be showing in the back and the front was so simple, plain, and the material looked crappy. I definitely liked the dress from her dream better....and her "leaving the reception" dress was cute!
@pccl: LOL it was the weird diamond looking pattern on the front!
I saw the movie and loved it... not so much the dress but it was classy for the type of wedding they had... she is a horrible actress btw! I never wanted to get sucked into all the hype but got realll bored last yr and read all the books(super good) and love the movies:) FI took me last night,He really loves me haha!!
I like that it was so different and unique. It would've been a bummer to see her come out in a trendy and typical bridal gown. It's definitely not a style many would gravitate toward but it fit the character and setting.
ok I just wanna say I'm not a twilight fan, and I don't knock people who are, nor have I seen the carolina herrera original, but I do really like the alfred angelo dress. I'm not crazy about the seams in the front but overall a really pretty dress. Unfortunately, its association with twilight is a turn off for me.
but here it is:
