    Hi bees,

Can you guys vote? I am so torn between these three settings!

Initially I had my mind set on halo (primarily to magnify the stone in case I ever feel stone size inferiority complex ---- I don't think my middle stone can be that big for money reasons), but now I have fallen in love with these other two!  I like the twisted one a lot but it does not come with halo (for the store that I am ordering from).

Any comments on pros/cons of these three? :)  Thanks!!

I'd love to vote for the rose, but you have to add a poll! :-P

I like the rose and the twisted. The regular halo is just kinda "eh."

@allyfally:  yes, I was totally in love with normal halos until I saw these other two styles!!

Pro of rose: so so cute and magnifies the center stone

pro of twisted: such a unique design, but if center stone is small then it will be very obvious....

    Decisions decisions!! :)

If you are open to getting your ring from another place, you can get a custom ring that combines everything you want to make your ring perfect for YOU.

I have a great reference if you want! Just let me know

I like the twisted. I'm a little anti-halo only because I think it is a trend and it will soon pass.

@monkey786: yes, I am a bit afraid of that too. Thanks for your input! I have a lot of things to consider (magnifying stone vs. whether or not the style will last many years from now, etc)

@rubbs:  yes, I think it looks so girly and artistic!!

I love the rose.  I usally prefer solitare, but that's an interesting twist on the typical halo.

@pain_perdu:  yeah it is tricky to pick a setting! My dad & husband are actually jewelers (the reference, I can promote them a bit huh? *wink*) and my mom has actually had a few different settings over the years to stay up with the trend. She currently has a halo, and wonder if she will end up getting something else despite liking the halo now.

These are all gorgeous. I'm torn too. They are all styles I like. Honestly, you can't go wrong. If I had to choose it'd be between the rose and twisted though.

@pain_perdu:  The twisted might be hard to find a band for.. I think I'd go with the rose (as much as I love twisted bands).. although the twisted actually might look pretty with a very thin diamond wedding band underneath. Ahh decisions! :)

@october22:  yes, the twisted would look great I think with any kind of thin band! On the other hand, the rose may look too cluttered/ too much with a band on my finger. (I have short fingers) hmm....!!!

p.s. your rings are very beautiful!

@pain_perdu:  I have the opposite problem, I have the longest creep fingers lol!! So the busier the better for me. What is your ring size?

I don't think the rose will look like too much with a band, what would the center size be?

@october22:  i have fat and short fingers, so they look very stubby. Size 5. Lucky you with your skinny fingers! Laughing

I am not sure of the size of centre stone (I am guessing 0.5-0.7 --- up to bf to decide), so that was my reason for wanting a halo (to make it look bigger).  However, I can't imagine how a wedding band will fit below the flower (won't there be an enormous gap then between my band and the flower?) I don't mind small gaps but I am just trying to think if this gap will be enormous....

@pain_perdu:  Yeah you'd really have to see how high the rose part is, if it's lifted up or not.. If It's lifted (like cathedral style) then a band would fit next to it, but if not there'd prob be a big gap.

Size 5 is not fat lol!! Mine are size 5.75, but really long lol.

Ah this is hard! It's hard to picture it because the center stones in those pictures look humungo.

@october22:  yes, 5 is not fat but I have really big knuckles and my fingers are very short so it gives the illusion of fatter fingers. Tongue Out

Oopsies, I just re-read the description and it says that the halo is raised to accommodate the wedding band. Therefore, the question of wedding band is solved now!

Yes, I agree it is hard to picture the rings with a small stone!  I am not so concerned about how the halo would look with a small stone but I am worried that my small stone would look extra tiny next to the twists.

Thank you so much for all your help!! I really appreciate it! Wink

Twisted. I, too, don't get excited about halo rings... not to say there aren't some stunning ones around the bee. Good luck deciding!

@Fleur.De.Lis:  Thanks for your input!! :)   I have been super in love with halos for months until I saw the twisted....now I love them both equally! If only a girl can have multiple rings Wink  (not possible for now due to our budgets)

    question for you bees:

My main deciding criteria right now (between twisted and rose) is that I am afraid I will feel self conscious of the stone if it is halo-less for the twisted.

If my stone will only be 0.5 ct, do you think the twists will emphasize how small it is? (as opposed to a 0.5 ct stone on a normal plain band).

Making the stone appear even smaller than it is would be my main concern for the twisted.  (I know the size of the stone should not matter but a lot of people I know have big ones, so I can't help but compare....not a healthy mindset I know!!) Frown

Not sure if this has "too much" going on but it combines the rose and twist type settings.

I voted for twisted because that is my exact ring! :) Except mine is a round brilliant.

I dislike halos and similar settings - individual diamond cuts are designed to be perfect for light performance - don't overshadow a beautiful cut with more chaotic sparkles around the "main" attraction - let the cut of the main diamond shine for itself. Just my opinion and preference! :)

I like the rose.  It's a nice feminine twist on the typical halo style, and with the side profile you can fit any kind of wedding band under there.
