    There aren’t any pictures…

and You’re aunt really should have brought the dress when she came to visit(my opinion,) and should have sent it QUITE  a LONG time ago!

    no pictures?

and quite frankly why didnt she bring the dress when she visited? sounds rude and shady to me – shes like holding your dress hostage. wear the one you have SEEN and love. She hasnt had much regard for your feelings in this so why worry yourself of hers? I mean the dress is one of the most important things in the wedding to a bride sometimes.

    IMHO.

I’d have a problem with her sending pics of someone ELSE wearing MY dress. Also that she didn’t bring it when she visited. Something weird there.

Still no pics, but I never have much luck either… any pic savvy bees want to step in and help out?

You could alter the top of the dress auntie bought and make it like the pronovias.

I love the train of the pronovias and if you could return the gown you bought, cha ching that’s 500 to save!

I voted for the dress that you picked. Based on looks alone, the Pronovias gown fits your shape very nicely, I like the gathering across the midriff, you have great shoulders for a strappless and the color looks very nice with your skin tone. The dress your aunt bought is pretty, but it just doesn’t fit as nicely and the color of the Pronovias looks so pretty. Based on looks alone, I would wear the one YOU picked.

As for the holding onto the dress issue, that doesn’t sit well with me. With an item so important that could possibly need extensive alterations, I just can’t fathom why she would hold onto it in the first place–much less why should would continue to hold it an additional three months after knowing that you put another dress on hold. At that point you’d found a dress, brand new, fits well, looks stunning and she wants you to wear one down the aisle sight unseen. I can’t imagine what she was thinking.

I guess it would depend on how costly alterations would be.

sell the one your aunt bought. Keep your pronovias – the other dress looks dated.

she might be upset, but explain that you found a dress more your style and offer to reimburse her.
