Call me picky but after two hair and makeup trials (with different people of course) I’m still not satisfied with my makeup especially.
My first trial was a disaster and the makeup artist didn’t do anything close to what I asked. The second one seen below still isn’t quite right.
While I like the hair (love, eh?), the makeup leaves me feeling a bit overdone which doesn’t suit me. While some ladies can pull it off and look fabulous I just think it is too much for my face. What do you think? I especially hate the bolder lip, I much prefer a muted/light pink lip.
Here are some photos:
Here is me after the ‘red’ lipstick wore off and I added light pink instead:

I think the lighter lip color really softens the look and makes a world of difference!
Also for pictures, you want things a little bit more done up so you can actually see it. LIke close up in the mirror , your like holy shiz! but when you get pictured from 10 -15 feet away it just looks like you have something on, and not totally washed out.

i like everything!!! but i do agree a nuder pink lip looks better. maybe try golds and browns instead and see how you like that…. might look better with your skin. 🙂

I actually like the makeup, but I think the eyebrows are a bit overdone. The hair, eh, not a fan. I think that a may be a bit to HS promish. The front looks great, I think that if you soften the curls it would be just right.

I think the look looks perfect with the pink lip. I agree that it looks a bit overdone with the red, but the pink softens everything and the eyemakeup is going to look awesome in pictures.

Your last picture looks amazing! The lighter lip color makes all the difference.

@tksjewelry: The curls did soften quite a bit within about 30 minutes. I think the dramatic curl was to give it a head start due to the weather. I see where you are coming from howeve ifI had started with softer curls my hair probably would have been straight very soon after.
Thanks for the comment!

@stephanie63087: i ditto the soft golds etc idea if possible! The blue appears harsh!
Also for the hair, perhaps somethign a bit looser with no harsh lines. Also I think alot of it depneds on your dress and your venue! Can you give us a quick rundown on those facts?

@Treejewel19: I really love the last picture where you added your own lip color. The eyes are really pretty, so I think keeping the eye makeup as is, but switching for a lighter lip will look gorgeous 🙂

@Eva Peron: Sure thing! My wedding is very formal and our venue (Grand Island Mansion) is just as fancy.
Oh and the eye color is all charcoal/black…no blue. Might just be poor lighting in the photos.
Here is my dress and I am having a cathedral veil as well:

Maybe it’s the eye makeup color you don’t necessarily like. I would call the person and ask if there was anyway to try again with the same look but different colors, maybe more browns, bronzes. I do think the softer lip softens the look a lot! Sticking with the same makeup person but asking for changes may help you get the look you’re looking for rather than starting over at square one with someone else.

Love the last picture. You look beautiful! Since your eyes are dramatic a more nude lipstick looks better.

@Vegas Pug: Thanks, that is a good idea. I just made an appointment to go over the foundation again (quick appointment) and maybe I’ll ask her to do the eyes too without the false lashes.
My fear is that a lot of times when you use bronze/brown colors it often leads to orange tones which I hate. I use a very neutral pallet for my day to day but I use browns with a pink undertone. I tried to very clear with both artists that orange tones are not allowed on my face.
Here is a “day to day” photo. As you can see I’m more of a natural pallete lover. :

Have you ever seen the Urban Decay Naked Palette? Those neutrals make a great smokey eye that you may like. Colors like that, maybe? I think you should stick with the false eyelashes for the day, but if you think they’re too dramatic, they do make more natural looking ones. (I, personally, am a HUGE fan of dramatic eyelashes, lol)

So basically…you’re beautiful. I much prefer the pink lip color to the original, I really think it softens the look and keeps it fresh. You have great bone structure, so I think that it would be hard to make you look bad in the make up department. I’m not super crazy about the hair, I feel like it doesn’t exactly “flow” (if that makes sense). When it all comes together you’re going to be a beautiful bride!
