this is sort of a cross post, I asked some questions in the NAMES section but wanted to see what your experience in Illinois might be.
I want to keep my name and add my husband’s name to the end. So my legal name would be Kay Dee Smith Anderson (for example) Last name Smith Andersoin (no hyphen).
I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what your experience was? Will your full name fit on your IL drivers license? Do you have any issues with passports or legal forms?
Appreciate the feedback! thanks!

I’m not from IL but I use two non hyphenated last names. Most common issue is that my first last name is often mistaken for a middle name. The post office, for example, stores my mail according to my second last name.

Not from IL but two last names as well. No hyphen. My first last name has 10 letters and second last name has 6 letters. First name has four, middle name has three. My entire name fits on my license. I only use my second last name most of the time for things that aren’t like legal stuff. It’s really weird and can be confusing but it’s just…normal…for me.
