I just don’t understand why you would do two city hall weddings?  Most people have a religious ceremony in one country and a legal ceremony in another.

It’s not like you can get “remarried” legally twice. Once you married legally, all your doing is basically having a 2nd “vow renewal”. Why does the 2nd one have to be at city hall? Why not just do a renewal at a park or something. Cause basically wouldn’t you be lying by applying for a marriage license and saying your not married? It’s just weird.

@FZanny:  So can’t they still see a ceremony, minus the legalities since that’s already be handled? Are your American guests going to be aware that you are already “legally” married?
