I’m curious about all the other two-dress brides out there.
What did you love about your first dress and why did you change your mind /buy a new one? Is your new dress a totally different look or exactly what you always wanted but hadn’t found?
Here’s my first dress. Its was exactly what I thought I wanted: Simple, flowy, with straps, delicate detailing and no train. It was a great price at a sample sale so I went for it. But I wasn’t sure if it was elegant enough…
A few days later I found a second dress that made me swoon. It had the texture and unique details I was looking for and a few things I didn’t think I would like; I love the train, the floral sash and was surprised to discover that I preferred strapless. Luckily, I sold my first dress quickly online and was able to buy the dress I really love and feel great in.
Was your experience similar? Why did you doubt your first dress choice and are you happy with your new dress or still looking for something better?

I am a three dress bride! The first one was custom-made for me and was SUPPOSED to be a replica of a Martin McCrea dress but it turned out horribly. I cried for days. Then I was going to settle for a Renfair dress but it didn’t work at all with my accessories. I finally decided on a Nataya dress and was very happy with the end result!

I’m on my second dress and I love it, but I’m afraid of second guessing it like I did the first one. My second is on the non-traditional side, so I’m also afraid I’ll get cold feet and want something more traditional.
I also sold dress #1 online quickly.
I LOVE your #2 dress!!

My first dress my aunt had bought but never sent it so I went and bought one on my own. Even after my aunt sent that other dress ive decided to wear the one i bought. I thought id like the straps too but found that strapless looked modern and I really like that feeling. congrats and good luck… your going to look great 🙂

Dress 1:Lazaro. Store ordered it too big and doesn’t look flattering, trying to get it to work with alterations but there’s just too much work to be done. Also is not working with the lace veil I want to wear, so I’m, thinking of possibly wearing it to the reception only.
Dress 2: Marisa. I’ll take better pics of this tomorrow when I go to visit. I would love it a lot more if it was white, but the only one I could get in time for the wedding was the ivory store sample.

First dress was an Eve of Milady which was heavily beaded and I loved, but I purchased it as a sample at 50% off to get a deal instead of my dream Lazaro dress which was almost $5000. Later when I showed my family they kept saying I looked square. The boning on the Eve made me look boxy like I had no waist line and I also wanted more of a sweetheart. So all the comments gave me second thoughts so I went out and I bought my second dress which was a cheaper Lazaro than my original dress that I wanted. It is lace and tulle and very beautiful on me. It gave me a waist line. lol and it looks really dreamy. At the last minute another bride living here in MI saw my old sellers listing I had and basically begged me to sell her my first Eve dress. Since I had been having second thougts about the waist and whether it could even be fixed, I sold it. Then I had sellers remorse, because I am now left with a beautiful unbeaded dress. 🙂 I am now looking for a beaded gown or I may just end up getting my original dream Lazaro 3804 choice. My only concern is wearing 2 dresses that are similar styles if I can’t sell my other tulle Lazaro gown. So I guess I will end up a 3 dress bride. 🙂

Dress 1 is Melissa Sweet Mila- I like the dress but don’t really think it’s my wedding dress. My mom and sister came to visit from out of town and I felt pressured to buy it.
Dress 2 is Vera Wang- I started getting the feeling I wanted another dress and fell in love with this one. I am hoping to purchase it used this week….

I am a 3 dress bride. The first 2 were from David’s Bridal $100 gown sale but it was something i settled for. Then i was looking on Craigslist and came across this bride in a SaBelle that she was selling and i fell in love! I went to a bridal store to try one on to make sure and i just knew that it was the dress. I sold the 2 dresses and bought the SaBelle from another bride 😀

@sweetlikcake, I thought I was the only 3 dress bride out there! I am so ashamed to mention about it because I feel like I’m so impulsive. My first dress was the one and only dress I loved..ML-Scarlet. I’ve seen it around and once I got engaged I tried it on and bought it. But it was considered too revealing for my traditional family and they wanted me to get it altered and close up the back. So I sold it and bought another dress just beacuse it was 80% off. I sold that one too. And now I don’t even have a dress! I’m so silly, I lost money along the way too!

I had this image in my head of me wearing a fit-and-flare lace dress.. even though it’s not really “me” at all. So I had to change dresses 🙂
Dress 1 – POB “Nora”. Managed to sell it online.
Dress #2 – Marisa dress.

I am about to become three dress bride too. I bought one from another bride, she was a first time buyer, a Jessica ML but I decided I want to go with a brand new dream gown also ML from a newer collection. So now I am desperately trying to sell my dress so I can recoup the money to buy my dream gown. My wedding is kind of bein postponed due to some church issue so at least It will be awhile and I have sometime to sell the dress and buy a new one.
I bought a beautiful oscar de la renta gown, its a runway gown and not a bridal gown, absolutely gorgeous, but now if I am going to spend like 7k on the dress I want, I want to sell my Oscar de la renta gown and just buy and keep one gown. Because if the gown is so pretty and expensive, I dont tihnk I would want to take it off.
I bought an after party dress which was a final sale because shopbop matched the price with their competitor so its final sale. If we have an after party I will wear it or I will wear it to dance, and its so pretty I can keep to wear to cocktail party later on too.
