I’ve been wracking my brain on how to do this – and the only thing I can think of is a two-sided RSVP card. One side with the traditional response (x seats, names, entree selections, reply by date) and the other side a fun, mad-libs type paragraph.
I think I’d put the traditional side facing out (since that’s the side I REALLY need). I don’t have any room to put “over” or “please turn over for more” – or, anything like that (you can also see I can’t figure out cute wording!!). My margins are 0.5!!
So – my question is – is it pointless to even try to do the fun reverse side? Do you think people will naturally turn it over? I always turn my RSVP cards over (mostly to include a note to the bride or couple) – but, do you think most people do this?
If not, any solutions to cute wording to get people to turn the card around?

I would go ahead and do it if you want it. Even if not everyone completes the fun side some will and those will be fun to read!
If it is an extra cost to have it printed on both sides that might be a consideration.
But all in all, I think most people will see both sides.

I think most people will end up turning it over. Some might turn it over and say WTF and leave the mad lib blank. But that’s ok. 🙂

I did RSVP cards with two sides. The front was normal RSVP but at the bottom I put ‘your creative reply is requested on the back’. The back instructed people to write a message, draw a picture or give us marriage advice. I think about 60-70% of the people wrote something on the back. Lots of older couples gave marriage advice. Some had their kids draw a picture. I love the responses…and would totally recommend that you do them!

I think if you’re going to do anything double-sided you need to put an arrow or something else asking people to flip the card over.

@aabride – what a CUTE idea!! I love the marriage advice suggestion. Most of the guests are our age, so I’m not sure how much advice they can give for a long and happy marriage, but still, VERY cute idea.
