- Wedding: June 2009
I posted a thread yesterday about the ring that I am redesigning for my mother (well, for my father to GIVE my mother as her anniversary gift, that is.) I know she liked the idea of two tone, and her original wedding set is yellow gold. She wanted to keep the yellow, but “update” the ring. She doesnt know that this is actually happening. I just happened to be having mine done and so it was convenient to open up a convo about her likes and dislikes… to be applied now. Behind her back. lol. I ordered the ring and then just on a whim….(and with dads permission…) ordered a matching half-eternity band to be made at the same time to go with. But now I am second guessing. See, I saw the pic and it was primarily white gold- wg with a pave split shank and double halo. the inner halo was yellow gold and outer was white. I changed it when I ordered it to be a PLAIN yellow gold split shank (to match her existing wedding band) and ordered the half-eternity ring in white gold, to match the outer halo.
SOOOO I am just wondering… wdyt? If she wears them all together it will be a layered effect… plain yellow gold, white gold with diamonds, and her new e-ring on top that combines all the elements. Should I change the wb to yellow? should I change anything about the e-ring setting? Thanks bees! I dont have anyone else to bounce this around with since its a big ol surprise. I placed the order today so if I need to change it, it has to be immediately! Their anniversary is June 19th for crying out loud!!!!
