About a month ago, Darling Husband and I were shopping and a woman randomly picked up my hand and said “What a beautiful ring set”. This weekend, at the checkout in the grocery store, the woman in front of me said “what gorgeous rings!” and we proceeded to gush with the cashier chiming in and I pointed at Darling Husband and I said “He did it!” and they said “he did good!”
You would think by all the ooing and aweing, that I was wearing a 5K rock, but my rings are a total of half a carat!
So to anyone else insecure about their rings, it’s the way they shine and their uniqueness that makes them beautiful.
(NOTE: I LOVE large stones and big rings, so I’m not bashing those types of rings at all. Just wanted to share ).

Don’t you love it when that happens? I try to do that every once in a while to other women’s rings b/c it always makes me feel so good when someone compliments me on my rings. It’s almost always a cashier when I go to sign the credit card slip. I think it also has to do with the lighting in stores…there are lights everywhere which makes every facet of your ring sparkle :o)
Yay for sweet people!

@MsBrooklynA: I’m sorry, you’re right! The first thing I would want is a picture. Here there are, but it’s not a real great sparkly pic.

You rings are amazing and SO unique! LOVE the band!
I’ve always felt a little weird about my engagement ring, it’s a half carat princess cut solitare. But it’s literally a perfect diamond and when I’m at work and people comment on how it shines and sparkles, it makes me feel like it’s one of the Queen’s jewels so I know exactley how you feel!!

I can’t thank you enough for your kind words, ladies. No one will ever make me disbelieve what I knew to begin with…That they are lovely and perfect for me.
@Mrs.Lotus: The insecurity was from being conditioned to believe .25 is small. (An office colleague calling my ering “cute”, Mother-In-Law making no comment at all, etc. Each ring is .25 for a total of half a carat.

That’s wonderful! Your set really is beautiful! Honestly, I’m still waiting for that moment with mine. Even when I was trying on wedding dresses the consultant was gushing over my sister’s 2ct princess cut solitaire and then I think realized she should be complimenting me instead since my sister is already married and I was the one buying the dress.
My ring, though, sparkles like crazy and I personally think is a better quality although much smaller. It is just nice to have some reassurance sometimes from an unbiased person!
