If you can afford it I don't see a problem with it, but if you can't then yes I think it is being a little selfish. A second band might even mean more to you if it comes as a first or 5th wedding anniversary present.
Go for it. I am doing two as well. We bought one for the wedding, and will buy another one for our anniversary :)
Nope, screw 'em! If you can afford it, that's one thing. If you can't afford it....well, skip it, but i have that philosophy on everything. You could defintiely do it as an anniversary gift though.
If you buy all 3 from the store you could wrangle for a better price.
I dunno, i have two diamond set wedding bands and my ring just didn't look good with one =]
In your heart you want it - like the gals have said, if its in your budget GET THEM and don't think about anything or anyone else.
I am having two bands
You ladies are great! Love your posts. You know, I really like the idea of getting the second one and saving it for the one-year mark (I'd be a bit afraid of finding a perfect match for our first anniversary). As for affordability -- you know, the money is flying outa here with this wedding business, so it's a bad time to spend any more than we have to. But I'll keep thinking about this one. When I go to the store tomorrow to pick up the sized bands, I'll try the two on together ONE MORE TIME!!
Meanwhile, if I don't get on the invitations thing, we'll have a wedding in June with no guests!
I think two bands look great with most rings - I love the symmetry! I say if it's affordable for you, do it! I bought a "back up wedding band" to wear when I don't want to wear my prong-set wedding band. But now, I actually like it paired with my E-ring and I'm thinking about getting another to flank my E-ring when i feel like changing up my look (yes, that would be 3 diamond bands) :) I say, "to each his own"... if you like the bling, go fir it!

Okay ladies. So I see most of you have these gorgeous solitaire engagement rings. It's my encore wedding; his first, and I opted for a band of diamonds (not all the way around) but very pretty -- a row of vertical rectangular bagettes in the center flanked by a row each of rounds on either side. We found a really nice channel setting princess cut (only .25 ct) diamond wedding band that surprisingly looks really nice with my band. I wasn't sure anything would work but a really simple plain band, which I wasn't thrilled about to be honest! Anyhow, the store is going out of business and they have two of these bands for a really great price. I'd put one on each side of mine and have even more bling.... or not! What do y'all think? He ended up buying his wedding band from this store too and it's twice as much as one of my channel cut diamond bands... I know I want the two. Know I'm an accomplished professional (not a kid anymore)! But know his sisters my age have never had a diamond in their life. But they've never owned a house or an apartment and I'm on my third.... yada, yada, yada.... should I care?
