FH and I just went ring shopping for our wedding bands. The jewelry store had a cute bridal event where they served mimosas, cupcakes and other treats. Very fun. Anyhow we ended up buying our rings. Don’t have a photo available but I got a channel set round diamond half-eternity band with milgrain work. I’m excited but now I’m thinking maybe I want another plainer band for everyday and when I travel. My second choice was an engraved band with milgrain, without any diamonds. The moment I put that ring on, I felt a relief because I wouldn’t have to worry about the durability of the ring, or the security of any diamonds in it. I’m in the medical field so I wash my hands over 100 times a day. I know that it doesn’t really matter because I can supposedly keep my rings on all the time, but it’s just so bothersome for me, and I do worry about stones falling out also. I had an eternity bezel set ring and I lost a stone once (I don’t even know how). I was very bummed about it so I don’t want to have to worry. I tend to worry 🙂
So I am thinking about buying the other no-stone band. I would like to get the band now but the only reason I didn’t pick it was because it doesn’t match my engagement ring exactly; it’s a little too wide by maybe 0.5 mm. I don’t know whether or not that matters, because I would mostly wear the band by itself anyways. I’ve seen some similar engraved platinum bands online but it’s so hard to tell without trying the ring on.
Do you know of any good jewelry places for engraved platinum bands without stones? And do any of you have more than one wedding band? Am I too particular for wanting to have more than one wedding band? My fiance thinks I would just get used to the wedding band after time. But honestly, I know I love my engagement ring, but it really is a bother for me at work. The minute I come home, I take it off right away. It’s a higher Tiffany pronged setting and maybe that’s what bugs me. I still love it, but I would want something that I can wear everyday no matter what, even during sleep. Actually do you wear wedding bands to sleep also? I don’t know since I’ve never been married!
Okay hope this isn’t too confusing post… Thanks!
