I've noticed that the other two week wait thread is coming to an end (testing results and AF reports). Thought I'd start up a new TWW thread for those of us nearer to the beginning of the long long two week wait. (Also, the grammatical error in that thread's title was bothering me....is that a sign of pregnancy? Just kidding!).
So, here I am, likely 6 days past ovulation (not using OPK, and very new to charting temps, and only using a fever thermometer so that's why I'm not quite sure)....cycle day 26 (and last cycle was 36).
Two week wait, here I am!
Who's with me?
Haha! I have a personal policy not to comment on threads with grammatical errors in the title and that one was really bothering me too! I'm not with you during this wait, but good luck!
I'll join you in the TWW! Keeping my fingers crossed for you :) (Ooh, and for me too)
I'm just on CD5 today, but will probably join the TWW in 10 days
I'm not a charter or temp-taker yet - I figured I'd wait to do that only if we go a few cycles with no success. This will be official cycle number 1 for me.
I do have to say that AF has been a real b*tch this month and I'm ready to kick her to the curb for 9 months and see what pregnancy has to offer instead!
Good luck for everyone this month (I'm uber-excited to be an actual participant now!)
Not quite in the two week wait, but I'll probably ovulate Wednesday. I'm planning on seducing DH sometime after the baseball game we're going to but before we head out to see Harry Potter. Otherwise known as a perfect day ;)
@Mrs Sarah McK: Love it! A post-baseball, pre-Potter seduction
I'm in! (I'm in the other thread too, but my timing is closer to yours.) I'm also 6 DPO and was also using a fever thermometer until today. Still I'm pretty sure that I can exactly pinpoint my ovulation day this month, and FertilityFriend finally decided to agree with me. I have to say, I'm not too hopeful this month, but I guess you never know for sure until AF shows up...
Good luck! I'm on the other thread, too. I don't chart, but do use OPKs and am either 9, 10 or 11 DPO. How's that for accuracy? I'm not too hopeful, but I'm just being pessimistic this month. I did get a fortune when we had chinese the week before last - "good news is on the way." What are the odds? I should know by Friday at the very latest...
@winniewolf: Fingers crossed for you - Hopefully pessimism will pay off! I know for me, it always seems like when I give up hope, what I was waiting for happens (getting engaged, getting my great new job, getting my very first car). Kind of twisted when you really think about it (hey, let's get depressed so we get what we want!), which is why I don't try to think too hard.
I think that's also why I'm planning to not chart for awhile - then I don't get my hopes too high and then angry at myself when all the plotting and planning doesn't work.
I'm 8 DPO and if she's gonna show her face, AF should be here either late Friday or early Saturday.
This is my first cycle charting and according to Fertility Friend I ovulated on Tuesday 19/07 - it was actually kinda neat to see that my physical symptoms (ovulation pain) lined up with my temperature dip.
I try to stay away from the internet while in my TWW, it's just too easy to symptom spot and I alternate between being overly hopeful and despairing about getting knocked up. And hey at the end of the day, I can't make the time go any faster!
@Goldilocks1107: I actually find charting temps to make me a little more calm because it helps me to know when I'll get my period (or hopefully not!). Last cycle I just assumed I would have a 28 day cycle, so on day 32 I started getting myself all hyped that I might be pregnant....went out and bought a test....negative.... Could have avoided the whole rollercoaster if I already had an idea of when I ovulated (and thus when to expect AF).
Which week is worse: this first boring week, where likely nothing will happen,
or the 2nd 'could this be implantation' and 'maybe it's a sign of pregancy/is it too early to test" week?
I'm currently on the first.
@cvbee: That's a good point - I was already thinking of changing my current plan of attack. Beyond getting a special thermometer, is there anything else I need to know? I have the What to Expect Before You're Expecting book, and i think they have a magical chart in the back somewhere.
@cvbee: I hope you don't mind if I pop in here, I'm pregnant, but still pretty new to it, so I feel weird with both feet in the pregnancy camp, the TWW is something i understand!
I ALWAYS found the second week to be much worse. I knew nothing would happen the first week, so I wasn't busy symptom spotting, and, by time time FF confirmed I'd ovulated, I was already 3dpo! So I always looked at the first week as really four days, and I can do anything for four days!
I was part of the other TWW thread, but I'm joining you ladies because I'm still waiting. AF should have showed this weekend, and yesterday at latest (my cycle has been between 29-31 days), but she is still a no show. I tested this morning and got a negative, but everything I've read says that it could very well be wrong. I think I'll test again next Tuesday if AF still hasn't come, but if it still says negative, I'll be at a loss on what to do. Wait longer and test again?
@Goldilocks1107: If you sign up for fertility friend, they give you an online course on charting. You get a lesson in your email every day, and there's a quiz at the end of each lesson. I like the quizzes, since I was always a very competitive student :-) Honestly, I find charting to be kind of stressful, but I also wish I had started doing it earlier, since it gives me a really good picture of my cycle and allows me to pinpoint exactly when I ovulate.
@cvbee: I'm just starting week #2, and it's definitely more stressful. I can't stop thinking about the fact that I could possibly be pregnant... but I probably am not. In 3 months I have yet to experience anything that could be mistaken as a true pregnancy sign. Although that doesn't stop me from imagining little twinges of nausea, implantation cramping, etc. Ugh!
I am 6 DPO according to my WomanLog app. I have never taken temps or anything so who really knows. I am so ready for the next week to hurry up and pass.
@skibobrown: Ooh, I like quizzes! I'm with you - a total competitive overachiever. I always loved collecting the gold stars - if only they had those for babymaking.
So here's my to-dos for the evening: yoga and registering for Fertility Friend. It's too hot today to do anything else, like go to Target. They're predicting 97 today, with a heat index of 130. Wisconsin should not be like this ever. I feel for all the pregnant ladies this week.
6DPO, for me. DTD on the the 10th; ovulated the 14th. We're not putting too much hope or pressure on this cycle, because we didn't plan on TTC until the end of the year, or the beginning of 2012, anyway. FI just decided to "make a deposit" in the baby bank early, as he likes to say, LMAO. I'm anxious for this TWW to be over with, though!
@skibobrown:Definitely wait and test again! AF for me was due the 9th or 10th at the latest. I tested on the 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th…all BFN. When I tested on the morning of the 14th I got a BFP. There's definitely still a chance, especially if your cycles are usually regular!
@Goldilocks1107: 130? Yeah, my ass wouldn't be leaving the house either. This heat is insane. We went to a baseball game today, and even after reapplying sunscreen several times, I still ended up burning. My poor husband burned his knees, though. I told him I'd be on top tonight ;)
Count me in! I'm 2 days post IUI! I'm already going a little crazy. I hope to fill my days up a lot these next 12 days!
What kinds of activities will you girls be doing during this TWW?! I need some ideas!!
Lots of luck to you all!
@Running Elley: I think you meant bree72, not skibobrown. I've never tested and never yet had a reason to test. Maybe this month will be the month, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up.
@Running Elley: No problem. It was just funny b/c I did a double take and said "Pregnancy test? Who? Me? I wish!"
@1littlep: Good luck!!! I'm thinking extra positive thoughts for all of the ladies who are currently going through medical procedures in order to get pregnant. I'm going to bake an apricot galette tomorrow for a bbq at my supervisor's house on Friday. Hopefully that will help to keep my mind off of imagining pregnancy symptoms!
I'm pretty sure I'm 5 DPO. This is only my first TWW so my hopes aren't up, but I'll admit to you guys, I already bought a pack of HPTs just in case, lol (DH doesn't know that, lol)
Loving all the company in this thread.
Today to pass the time and make me think about something different, I joined FlyLady.net and started to focus on how to be a domestic diva. I started by cleaning the sink, following the detailed instructions ( http://flylady.net/pages/FLYingLessons_Shine.asp ) and then I noticed that the caulking around the sink was really grimy. When I tried to get at the grimy bits, the caulking started peeling off, so I peeled it all off and then took a crash-course (internet research) on how to do caulking. Proud to say that I caulked my first sink! Did a pretty good job too. So then I got ambitious and decided to remove the caulking in our shower, which was also grimy underneath. Trouble is: I got half way through my caulking and BAM: I ran out of caulk. So now we have to bathe in the jacuzzi tub until I can get some more caulking and finish the job tomorrrow.
And how about that heat?! I'm thinking, it's a good thing that we're in the TWW and not ovulating right now, because in my opinion, it is too darn hot for BD!
PS. No symptoms here yet.
@cvbee:LOL. Nice.
I have no idea if we're in the TWW or not. I'm really good at faking myself sick with whatever symptoms I'm supposed to have, and I'm off the pill--last time it took 6 months to cycle again.
Hopefully this time it won't take that long.
And... I'm going to trtack this thread for advice (like the FertilityFriend and other tracking methods). Also gotta start figuring out the lingo!
Positive thoughts for everyone!
@Navy_Wife: I'm with youon the HPTs! I keep telling FI that I don't really care, and I'm just going to take it day-by-day, but I want to test so badly! I know it's still way too early for it, but I'm impatient! :P
@skibobrown: Thanks for the extra positive thoughts! I can sure use them. I like the idea of baking. I went to the library and got some books to read including a cookbook! Here's to hoping that there are some good recipes. Good luck to you! Happy early anniversary to you! Our anniversary is one weekend after yours!
@1littlep: and then my anniversary is one week after YOURS!
So, last night I had my first pregnancy dream! Not a beautiful dream. I had (apparently) recently given birth and I had loads of acne on my chin area. I was sitting at a mirror trying to put makeup on to cover up the zits! Hopefully I'll get some better dreams coming my way (along with baby dust). When I woke up from the dream (at 3am, since my body likes to wake me up at 3am every morning to take my temperature even though I set my alarm for 5am), I felt maybe a hint of indigestion. So I lay there basking in the 'maybe this is it' thoughts for a while before going to sleep.
Yep, I'm officially in the 2nd week of the wait: aka time to get crazy.
7DPO, today, and my temp. took a nosedive. I think I'm out of the running, this month. Another week to go, though, yet.
I'm out. Period arrived right on schedule (after of course taking about 10 pregnancy tests). Next month, going to try not to test until AFTER period due.
@Running Elley: I knew you meant me. :)
And I think I will just put my sights on testing Tuesday and go from there. I feel like I could totally waste like 40 tests just continually peeing on sticks for the next few days, but I hardly doubt that's a good idea.
Luckily I am going to the lake house with my husband's family this weekend, so I won't have much time to dwell on it.
@brighteyedgirl: Hey, not so fast, that could be an implantation dip, right?! :)
@cvbee: Yeah, that's what I thought after I posted, lol. We shall see if my temp. rises back up, tomorrow!
:) How is everyone so funny?
Do you use a regular thermometer, or do you need to buy the special basal temp thermometer?
I'm having the worst time tracking, and the drugstore was out of OPKs.
