I don't know what to tell you, it's hard! And I was obsessed with taking tests, I think I started around 7 DPO but I had the internet tests so it wasnt too bad. I think 5 DPO is way too early for a positive. Good luck!
I went nuts every month. Then after awhile it's too depressing to see negatives. Sorry this a debbie downer answer but it's the honest one. When I got my bfp I hadn't taken a test for 16 days or something after I could have, I was just over it.
I have yet to be in this situation (no O yet) I worry about two things, one a positive and it being a chemical pregnancy and the second if being negative and thinking you aren't pregnant and drinking, etc.
I'd wait until 7DPO at the VERY earliest. I think 9 or 10 DPO is more realistic, though still quire early. 12 or 13 DPO is a lot more accurate. If you have internet cheapies (about 20 cents each), sure, test at 7 DPO, but don't be disappointed if it's a BFN that early. I've never ever heard of a BFP at 5DPO...
I got a BFN on 11 DPO and a BFP 12 DPO but ended up having a mc.
You guys are right, I should wait longer. I bought a bunch of dollar store HPT so I won't be wasting a whole bunch of money. Ill probably wait until Saturday (7dpo). Thanks for your help ladies!
@jaguar: I think 8&9 DPO are the hardest. You want to test, you know there's a chance it might be positive, but at the same time, its still super early. Hope you're not going too batty!
I'm only 2DPO, so I've got AGES to wait. I think I'll keep away from the boards and from stalking my charts to try and distract myself. I've also got a bunch of new books, so reading should distract me (non-baby-related books).
So much toture... I'm also in tww & experience d the stomach flu this weekend still kinds dealing with it... Ugh not a good mix anxiety & stomach flu
@jaguar: the wait is just terrible! I'm one of the most impatient people and I hate when things are out of my control! ugh this whole TTC business is gonna be harder than I thought ha
@redsmarties: staying away from these boards and not stalking my chart sounds like a great idea! I'll have to try that. I've just started reading a book this week so that has helped a bit, but I'm almost finish, have to find a new one! thanks and good luck to you!!
@jaylovessteez: ugh, that stinks, hope you feel better and good luck!!
@redsmarties: Agreed! So close, but yet so far...
@zoesmom126: Yeah - TTC has certainly taught me lessons in patience over the last 14 months!!

Today I'm 4dpo and I wanna test so bad! We BD the day before and the day of ovulation and I've experienced some spotting yesterday and today (hoping its implantation bleeding! )soo now I'm just dying to test! I know I only have like a 10% chance of getting a positive tomorrow but I think I'm gonna test anyway haha. How do you ladies deal with the tww? P.s. this is our 1st cycle officially TTC!
