Ok so I was in the jewellers yesterday looking at rings, I knew I wanted an emerald cut 1.5 – 1.75 carat, G, VVS2, SI e ring… The only thing I was worried that because the emerald cuts have less facets they don’t ‘sparkle’ like a round or princess diamond would. He then proceeded to show me the ‘tycoon cut’ . It’s basically the same shape as an emerald cut, yet it has many more facets! I was amazed it was like the cut was desgined just for me it was so perfect! Has anyone else come across this cut before??

Sounds similar to a radiant… never heard of that term before.

I’ve never heard of it either. But I think Reese Witherspoon has something similar. I remember reading that she had an Emerald ering with so many facets. My BFF has an emerald ering and I have a round. Her regular (for lack of a better word) cut emerald does not “sparkle” very much at all in comarison to mine or in general. I would def go with the Tycoon cut if sparkle is what you want in your ring or look at radiant cuts!

I was curious and googled it. What an interesting looking stone! It’s kind of like the lovechild of an emerald, asscher, and radiant. I like it!
