Help! I love the look of tasteful white swag to help cover the ceiling poles of a frame tent (ours will be two 20×40 frame tents) but I have no idea what type of fabric looks best and is most affordable. Has anyone else done this recently? I am not a fan of tulle – it reminds me of My Big Fat Greek Wedding – but I don’t know what else is cheap and generally wrinkle resistant (the idea of ironing *swag* the day before the wedding does not appeal to me). Maybe tulle is best. Any thoughts? Also, does anyone have a lay-out of how to swag a tent so that my faithful tent decorators have a plan?

I’m not sure about tent swagging, but my dress had a top layer made out of chiffon, and it looks really similar to your picture. Chiffon is a super light fabric, so it doesn’t hold wrinkles, and it looks really nice draped. On a quick Google search, though it looks like it’s kinda expensive… Maybe somebody else has a cheaper alternative to chiffon? Or maybe you can ask at a fabric store if there is a cheap substitution?

I wanted to bump this up! I am having the same issue. Anyone have suggestions?

viole is the fabric this vendor suggests.
Anyone out there know how to secure it to the tent?

Gossamer is commonly used for draping and it it very inexpensive.
