I am having a hard time trying to think of what style shoes I want. I can imagine shoes with every type of dress except mine: mermaid. I initially wanted to find some cute flats, but I don’t see them looking very good with this style. Opinions?
Here’s my dress so you can see.
These are the shoes I was looking at, but I don’t know..

I dont think there is a particular shoe I would say is for a mermaid dress. It depends on the length and the person wearing it IMO. The only shoes I cant imagine are pointy toe but that’s just me.

all depends on you and the look you want. Mine is fit and flare/mermaid. SImilar to yours kind of – lace to mid thigh, then flares out tulle. My shoes are a dark purple/black sparkly heel. But any shoe can go with it
always loved these but couldn’t find anything quite like them:

@jgtexas22: My dress is an all lace mermaid and this is what I’m wearing.

@jgtexas22: I wore what I usually wear, platform pumps (sorry the picture isn’t better). But really, no one is going to see them so wear whatever you would like!

Depends on what heel height you want, and whether or not you want a color pop shoe or a shoe that sort of goes with your dress. Your dress has a lot of detail so, if it were me, I’d go with a simple shoe without much in the way of glitz, leaving the dress to be front and center. A basic court shoe or pump in a color you like.

I really think any kind of shoes work with a mermaid. You won’t see them that much anyway, so wear what you like/are comfortable with. I always dreamed of having over the top designer heels so that’s what I’m wearing 🙂

All of these are so gorgeous! Maybe I will wear heels for the ceremony and pictures, then switch into something more comfortable for the reception. Hopefully the dress won’t be too long.

@jgtexas22: I had a trumpet style dress and these were the shoes I chose. I really thought it was a good compromise because the heels were less then two inches and they had straps. I was comfortable all night.
I even danced in them:

@jgtexas22: to be completely honest, you cannot see my shoes with my mermaid gown. I tried to stick my foot out as far as I could (think of hokey pokey) and i still couldn’t see them. It probably depends on the length of your dress – mine needs no alterations for length. I also walked around and you still could not see the shoes. So it would be best to go with something comfy!

@jgtexas22: You could always get a pair of platform flip flops, so you’ll still have the height but will be comfortable at the same time.

I have a Destination Wedding wedding in Mexico and my mom thinks I’m crazy for wearing flip flops with my dress. My feet won’t be seen and I want to be comfortable for dancing plus my Fiance is pretty short so I want to stay shorter than him. She says I’m ruining my beautiful dress.
