In my experience, most of the shops I went to had sample sizes that usually fit around sizes 6 to 10 street size.

I agree with Tulip for the most part, but I have gone to stores that have had "sample" sizes that are much too big for me, and I am a street size 10. So Tulip is right that in general, that's pretty much what you find, but don't feel like you'll be confined to only that. And even if some sample sizes don't fit all the way, you can still usually get a pretty good idea of how a dress will look on you! At least in my experience. :)
Most of the ones I tried on we're a 'bridal' size 6 - 12. There were also a couple 2's & 16's.
Thanks, that's excellent! I had it in my head that they'd be on the tinier side of the spectrum like size 2, so that seems pretty decent. :)
Most bridal stores will try to stock a variety of sizes, but most dresses will probably be bridal 8-14 which is street size 4-10. David's Bridal may size differently. Do not be shocked if you have to go up about 2 dress sizes. Unfortunately that is normal in wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses.
This is somewhat related, but does anyone know how long bridal salons keep sample dresses before selling them?
@ ninja-my experience was that they were generally size 8-12
@sunset-I don't think there is a general rule of thumb on that. I think it depends on the style of the dress/popularity. I went back to the salon to try on the sample my dress a couple weeks ago and they sold it. :( boooo

Are there typical sizes for most sample dresses in a bridal store? Or is it dependant on differnt factors like brand, etc.?
