I resized my wedding band (14k white gold with a few small diamonds) from a 7 to a 5.5 and it was $75.

Ask your jeweler where you purchased the ring from first; mine resizes for free since we bought our rings there.

I’ve had rings sized down for as little as $25, and had some jewelers who wanted to charge me $60 for the “first size” down, then an additonal $30 per size down after that. $50 give or take ten I believe is totally within reason, more than that and I’m feeling taken advantage of, unless they have to add more gold.

The jeweler where we bought our rings does resizing under our protection plan, which is really nice.

I had three heirloom rings sized down about a size, and I think it was $80 each.

I resized mine twice.  First, I had it shipped out of a Kay Jewelers store for resizing, which cost me $35.  It still didn’t fit, but I didn’t want to wait 3 weeks again, so I did it in town for $65.

Have you found someone to size silver?  All metals need different care and many places set up to size gold will not be equiped to size silver, or will charge you more for it.

@echolove:  I had mine resized up a size and a half in platinum for $100 and change it took a week if that makes a difference

@echolove:  They just need to the tools to care for it.  A silver smith and a gold smith are 2 seperate areas.  Some jewelers do both, some do not.
