My Mom just got a pair of Uggs for Christmas and we were having a debate on whether you are “supposed” to wear socks with them or not. SO I thought I’d add a poll! FYI I said I have never worn socks with mine and my sister says she always wears socks.

I wear socks with mine, I hate going to someone’s house and not having socks to wear. On the other hand, my girlfriend doesn’t wear socks with hers, but she brings socks in her purse so she can put them on after.

@MacFaniam24:I’m 50/50 with the socks. If I’m kinda dressed cute with jeans I will have on a thin pair. If I am in PJ pants and relaxing or running an errand I don’t wear sock. It depends if I am getting dressed or not. Silly.

I’ve been wearing Uggs for years and I always wear socks with mine. Given they are a pretty thin pair but I still wear them.

I don’t think you are suppose to wear socks with Uggs, but I guess its personal preference. they should fit pretty snugly on your feet and then the sheepskin fuzzy stuff will conform to your feet. I’ve been wearing them since I was a kid, never with socks (that I can remember).

I always wear socks with shoes because sweaty feet without socks means stinky shoes. Yuck!

@gabrielleelise1981: That’s what I had heard as well. I honestly have never worn them with socks and mine don’t smell. Lucky me I guess!

Uggs are fungal breeding grounds if you wear them without socks and don’t wash them very regularly. Always socks!

I always wear mine with socks, and the FI goes sockless.

I have always worn socks with mine.

If I went sockless, my Uggs wouldn’t smell very pretty! Hehe…b/c my feet tend to sweat as it is, I wear socks to not totally stink them out :o)

I don’t have uggs, but I have bear paws and I wear socks. Sweaty feet = stinky shoes.

i have never ever worn socks with mine, and never will – the sheepskin “breathes” so you’re feet should (in theory) never be too hot or cold (kind of like the underamor stuff that is supposed to adjust your body temp)
from the uggs website:
UGG® Australia uses only the highest-grade sheepskin available. Twin-face sheepskin is used in many of our core products. A piece of twin-face sheepskin has been treated on both the fleece side, and the skin side, providing the soft comfort UGG® Australia is famous for.
Grade-A sheepskin is extremely dense and soft, which provides for a more comfortable and durable material. Lesser quality material and synthetics can be coarse, scratchy, and non-breathable. Grade-A sheepskin breathes naturally, wicking away moisture, and allowing air to circulate freely.
Fleece breathes, wicks moisture away, and allows air to circulate, keeping feet dry.
Sheepskin is naturally thermostatic thus keeping bare feet close to your natural body temperature regardless of the temperature outside.

Uggs are designed to be worn without socks. From the website:
"Grade-A sheepskin breathes naturally, wicking away moisture, and allowing air to circulate freely.
Sheepskin is naturally thermostatic thus keeping bare feet close to your natural body temperature regardless of the temperature outside."
I don’t usually wear mine with socks.
And they sell replacement insoles too.

I can’t handle any kind of shoes without socks (well, except sandals, of course) because I hate sweaty feet. Even with flats I wear those little hidden liner things to avoid the stink 🙂 So, my answer is yes, I wear socks with my (fake) Uggs.
