Are they too expensive, or going out of style....or are they crazy warm and soo comfortable? I want the Ultimate Short in black!!!
I know a lot of people hate them, but I *love* mine. They are wonderfully warm and comfortable and I think worth every penny I spent on them I don't care if they are going out of style. I wear mine with pride the same way I wear birkenstocks all summer. :)
I have the Bailey Buttons in black.
I have 3 pairs of Uggs and I absolutely love them. I don't wear mine because they're in style, I wear them because I like them.
While they are expensive, if you take care of them they will last a long time. My first pair I totally trashed which is a bummer but my other pairs I take care of and they look brand new.
ETA: These are my favs...

no matter how compfy they are they will always be hideous. The hideous is not worth the comfort.
@Atalanta: I have to disagree. I don't find them hideous at all.
@heathaah: They sell an Ugg cleaner. Pretty much anywhere that you can buy them from will sell the cleaner.
I LOVE my Uggs (I have the pair that CaitMarae posted, but in tan). I don't think they're hideous, and they are so warm and so comfortable.
I don't care what people think of them, they keep my toes toasty warm! The regular UGGs shouldn't really be worn out in snow/slush/rain, or it will quickly ruin them. You can buy Ugg protector cream (they should sell it wherever you buy Uggs), which will help to protect them, but I avoid wearing them in nasty weather. They do have some all-weather ones (I have the Adorndack Tall boots) which are *amazing*. It was -12 the other morning and my feet/legs could not have been warmer! They are also weatherproof, which is key.
Be careful where you buy them, Uggs and Coach bags are the top counterfeited products. The official Uggs website has a list of authorized retailers.
Yeah I'm not a fan of Uggs, and where I live, I don't really see a need for them. I see girls wearing them around here with their mini skirts and short shorts... they're like walking oxymorons!
If you love them buy them. I hear they're awesome comfortable and warm. The only reason why I didn't buy any was that I was told they are not waterproof so wearing them during the winter in the Northeast would have ruin them. And if they're so warm I probably wouldn't wear them if there's no snow on the ground.
I'm not so much a fan of how they look but I LOOOOOOOVE the way they feel and that is ALL that matters to me :)

I agree
I don't think they are particularly cute (except the ones CaitMarae posted - I love the sweater texture). My coworker wears them and swears by how comfy/warm they are, though. The only downside I see is that they can't be worn when it is wet out, and they don't have very good traction. I live in Boston, and although it's definitely cold enough for them here, I couldn't wear them in really cold weather because there is too much snow/slush everywhere and you'd break your neck falling on the ice in them, if the slush didn't ruin them first.
I had a pair and got caught in a snowstorm (back when I lived in the Midwest).
They were then ruined.
A warm pair of boots that you can only wear when it's no longer snowy and wet outside just seems like a silly idea to me, but I will tell you they were really comfortable.
If you're going to wear them, I would suggest maybe having a spare pair of shoes in your office/bag just in case it rains or snows.
I'm at college in Michigan, and I know a lot of people who have Uggs, but they do get ruined if you wear them out into the slush and snow, which is pretty much the weather here from November to March. I bought Sorels because they're a little more durable and they have a waterproof upper. If you're going to be walking through a lot of snow, rain or the nasty mix in between, I would recommend Sorels.
I don't really think it matters if they are going out of style. I never really cared whether they were in or not. Before I got my first pair I thought they were really ugly...i still kind of do, but they are so perfect to throw on to go outside or run errands in. I guess they are warm. When they are newer they are warmer. After a few years the fur tends to push back. I have a pair of Ugg mocassins, a little cheaper, they are $100 and I love wearing them!

Yes. Although, I wouldn't get actual Uggs. Emu brand look the exact same, function the exact same, last the same amount of time with proper care, but are about $150 cheaper.
I hated UGGS when they first became popular... But I got my first pair this Christmas, and they are the toastiest things ever! I LOVE them so much. I def think you should get a pair. They're worth it :)
I gotta ask - I've tried on knock off uggs on several occassions, and every time I feel like they're NOT that comfy! Are the real things better?
My biggest complaints are 1) no arch support and 2) my foot moves around like crazy in them. The ones that are long enough to not crunch my toes have tons of extra space above my foot (like, above the arch) so that when I try to walk, the boots flop around like crazy!
Are my feet just too flat for them?
@daydreamwanderer: I'm not sure. Usually with the real Uggs you are supposed to go down a size. With the orginals I am usually a size 10 but got a size 9. With the mocassins however I got a size 10. They actually are kinda snug because of all the fur, they should hold your feet in pretty snug.
I LOVE my Uggs!!! They are so warm and comfy! I live in snowy NH and I wear them all winter long. As long as you're not jumping into piles of slush and snow, they are fine. I mean, they have a bit of a worn look, but certainly not ruined! I'm a teacher and my Uggs are perfect for freezing recess duty!
@ddubzz: Did you know they were actually invented for surfers?
That said, I think they look ridiculous with shorts/miniskirts. But l love uggs in general. They're actually perfect for So Cal "winter" because they're not really meant for wet/slush/snow/rain.
Although they are awesome in dry powdery snow like in Mammoth.
I have 5 pairs, 2 are real and 3 are knock offs (i think - my aunt got them for me) and I love every single one of them. The knock offs still have the Ugg label, but I can tell they're not quite Uggs. I'm on board with MacFaniam24. I thought they were the ugliest things before I started wearing them, but the warmth and comfort tempted me, and I gave in. I am SO glad I did because now I'm obsessed. I still don't love the look of them, but I have a hard time putting anything else on in the winter.
@miss ranunculus: I'm wearing those now :)
i had uggs in college but I have only worn them when it is REALLY cold and snowy outside. They just don't get a lot of wear now because they don't look professional. Plus they have zero arch support, so I really shouldn't wear them anyways. They're okay, but not $200 okay. I like my Fryes much, much more and they're hardier for the wet weather. I almost got some black suede Uggs, but decided against it.
sorry, but i don't give a s**t if uggs are going out of style or not. they are so flippin' comfortable and i wear them ALLLL the time. sooo worth the money. i love them.
I LOVE LOVE mine. Wear them every single day of winter without fail. They are comfortable and warm but not really meant for navigating snow (and road salt stains them). I vote yes!
Uggs are actually quite bad for your feet, you should research this, they dont provide enough support for your feet because they are so flat. Aside from that, they arent particularly attractive so am not sure why ppl love them so much
I have the same boots as CaitMarae and I love them. They're awful winter boots though. They're warm enough, but far from water proof. They're much better suited to the fall, though I'll still wear them in the winter if the ground is dry enough (which we've barely had this winter. too much snow!). I also don't care much about style and go more for comfort. As others have said, they don't have much arch support, but over time they do start molding to the shape of your foot. I've had mine about 2 years now and they still look like new without ever needing to clean them, but as I said, I don't wear them in the mucky weather, nor do I wear them in the summer or anything (I've got ugly crocs for that lol).
I also have the Bailey Button's, but in Grey.
I love my Uggs, but I like my Steger Mukluks much more. They are warmer, better for walking in, and last way, way longer. I have them in black, so I wear them with everything, all winter. They are made in Minnesota too.

I got Nike boots, they look nothing like Uggs, but they're perfect for our Canadian winters. Waterproof to a certain point, but they're super comfy! I got them 3 winters ago though and haven't seen them since...
sorry, that was the only pic I could find of them haha
@MacFaniam24: Okay. Those are the first pair of Uggs I like. Those look SOOOO warm!!!
love my aussie uggs and even hubby has a pair for around the house in winter - just remember, indoor use only :)
I love my uggs! I know they are ugly, but I dont care. lol
I wear them all the time in the winter cause my feet get sooo cold. (Im a wimp)
I also have the Ugg moccasins, but they rub up against my pinky toe and give me blisters :(
I'm not a fan of them but I think it's because of the price. Back when they came out, I did have boot that was similiar to it that American Eagle made. If I had the money, yeah, I might buy a cute pair.
Uggs are ugly. I don't care what people say; if Kate Hudson hadn't been photographed endlessly in them back in like, 2004, there would be no craze and NO ONE would wear them except dashing to the supermarket on emergency NyQuil runs and/or shovelling out the driveway or chopping wood on your Montana ranch far, far away from where anyone else could see you. And by the way, I own a pair. They're ugly.
That said, they are warm and they are comfy. I don't think they're as useful as their ubiquity suggests because, as pp have said, they're more for cold, clear days--not slush and snow. So if you really want them, do get them--they'll make your feet cozy! However, if you don't want to look like a trendzoid tragedy, I suggest the following rules (in good humor :) :
1. If you wear uggs, the rest of your attire should follow suit, as a PP said. Uggs do not go with miniskirts, and I don't care if you have leggings on underneath.
2. Do not wear your uggs in a mall while drinking a frappuchino. Especially if you live on Long Island.
3. If you aspire to look like American Apparel ads, then don't buy them. It's too risky.
4. They do not belong at work. Unless your "work" is being photographed by the paparazzi in Los Angeles. Back in 2004.
@JennyW1: LOL...Thanks for the tips! I wouldn't wear them with mini skirts by default...I don't wear miniskirts!
Ok, the decision has been made. I am going to get them. As someone with FREEZING COLD feet all the time, I think it's a go! :)
Worth it if you live someplace cold! I like the cable knit ones the best for looks but the originals are super toasty.
That's becasue uugs were originally meant for surfers they are beach shoes! lol To keep your feet warm after surfing, not to trudge around snow and ice. Irony.
Yeah they are ugly. I alwasy thought they got their name from when someone saw them and went 'ugh,' casue that's the only thing they could thing of when they saw how ugly they were.
