I honestly really prefer the Maggie dress. It looks amazing on you and doesn’t look cheap at all. The tulle on the bottom doesn’t appear to only be 1 layer it just looks right and not over the top like some. I really think it’s a beautiful choice!

You need a mermaid petticoat – you can get them on ebay for $20 and they make the world of difference. It also looks like your dress is a little long, which would definitely change the shape of your skirt (and wearing a mermaid petticoat will definitely alter the length since it pushes the fabric out).

If you weren’t comfortable wearing a petticoat, you could get a tailor to add in some crinoline or lots of tulle underneath the skirt – I really think it would give you the look you’re after and wouldn’t cost much at all.

It’s a gorgeous dress!

If you’re worried about your wedding dress looking cheap, you probably shouldn’t get a replica. Looking cheap is what most replicas do best.

JaneReaction’s petticoat/crinoline suggestion is good way to go. It could change the dress enough for you to actually like it. However, I think simply losing the deposit and finding a dress you actually like is the best thing to do. It’s unfortunate that you’ll end up spending more money than you want to, but I think it will be worth it in the end. If a few hundred dollars, or even several hundred dollars, will keep you from feeling doubts before the wedding and regrets after the wedding, then spending the money is a good choice.

I love the tulle bottom dress!!! Omg it’s gorgeous!!! Like previous posters, try the petticoat. It changes everything!!! Also I agree against the replica, I just wouldn’t be comfortable without seeing the final product before hand. I had dress regret from day 1 but thought through because during trying on the wedding dresses  it was my favorite and the one I loved. I think we just get so nervous. Honestly I was kind of bummed the trying on dresses part was over. Lol but it turned out wonderful. Here’s a picture 😉

hp520:  contact the store and try it on again (dresses look really different in person to phone pictures), maybe take a mermaid peticoat like ssomeone above suggested to see if that helps and if you’re still unhappy ask about transferring the deposit to a different dress at the same store and find one you love. At least that way you might be able to get another one without losing the money.

hp520:  I like your second dress the most. However, if you’re considering replica, I’ve included a beautiful replica dress that a bee has posted recently:

I think your second dress picture looks AMAZING on you! I know that’s not to helpful, but if you do decide to stick it out you look fantastic!

You could also try to find a used dress on preowned/tradsey/once wed and then sell your new with tags dress for the amount you paid for your used dress (and likely a little more) so that you end up even.

I really like your first dress much, much more.  It looks classy, whereas a replica is more likely to look obviously cheap.

Agreeing with PPs about the crinoline to make the skirt look fuller and fit better.

I honestly love the Maggie Sottero on you and don’t think it looks cheap! I tried on the same dress in blush. I liked it, but it looks more flattering on you because you are taller. The dress is beautiful on you without bring overdone, and it’s figure flattering. I agree with others that you should try it on again and see how you feel. Try it with a belt you really like and a veil.

I had second thoughts after buying my dress a few months ago, but felt much better after going back to try it on again with the right accessories.

To be perfectly honest, the first dress is absolutely stunning on you. My advice would be to take the first photo around to a few different bridal salons and see if they have something similiar that falls within your budget. It might just be a matter of doing a little more shopping around.

If you’re having dress regret, don’t buy it. I don’t think it looks cheap, but you shouldn’t have that in the back of your mind while you’re walking down the aisle!

Would you mind sharing the name of the Allure gown?

since this all happened a few days ago…all may not be lost.  Call the store… they may be able to move your deposit to another dress of the same designer…or even another dress as long as you buy from them…

Its worth a try…. it may not be too late… you will never know unless you ask and I have seen it done on here before

hp520:  I really like the Maggie best.  It looks awesome on you! I think if I were you, I would go back and try on the Maggie with a Mermaid Petticoat and some awesome accessories.

I think with a petticoat it will look great! However, I do really love the first dress on you. Do you know if your dress has gone into production? Maybe you can put the order on hold while you decide. It really doesn’t look cheap though!

You look gorgeous in both dresses! But don’t buy yet if you’re having ANY doubts!
