My friend didn’t go with me dress shopping so she asked me for a pic of my dress. Not thinking anything unusual, I sent her a text of it. Now today I found she has been showing mutual friends my dress! Ugh…I’m SO annoyed right now. I know she didn’t do it to be mean or anything and her personality is to show people everything but it is still so irritating! I really want to send her a texta firmly asking her to stop doing that, but then on the other hand, I feel like I shouldn’t make a big deal out of it. We have been good friends for years now but she comes from a culture where everything is out in out in the open.
AHHHHHHH……ok, vent over. 🙂

Why not just say that you are excited that SHE is excited about it, but you’d rather wait and keep a little of the surprise for the wedding day. Plus I wouldn’t want too many people seeing me in my dress until it’s properly fitted. Just be honest with her. Maybe CALL her instead of a text since it’s really easy to misinterpret someone’s tone over text.

Phone her! Texts and emails can be misinterpreted.

Just ask her not to show anyone else. Don’t be mean, don’t be firm. Just like “hey girl, we have to make sure my dress is a surprise to some people! ” If you guys are good friends, she’ll understand.

@zaakaawaa: Just ask her politely not to show anyone else, you want it to be a surprise! No biggie.

@zaakaawaa: I would just drop her a friendly email saying ‘hey! remember how I showed you my dress? Well, I’m trying to keep it a big surprise for everyone so please don’t share it!’ Or something along those lines. She will get the hint.

I think as long as you ask her nicely, there shouldn’t be a problem!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I just needed to vent on here before I say something I may regret to her. Everything is good now and we shouldn’t have anymore problems. On with the wedding planning!
