This is kind of good timing! We're running a "bees budgets" series and today we showed a bunch of bees' venues across the country, and listed their prices:
http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/06/18/the-bees-venue-budgets-major-cities/
Tomorrow we're doing medium and small cities, so if today's post doesn't help, hopefully tomorrow's will!
Thanks for the link!
But wow...there's no way I could pay those prices. Let me pick my jaw up off the floor. haha!!
I think that is a good price! Rentals can cost a ton, so if you're having a large wedding you'll make your money back in rentals alone!
In regards to all your other questions: there are tons of resources available on the hive. Start digging! You'll find lots of inspiration & help.
I love Mrs. Daffodil's wedding timeline packet. She didn't leave a single thing to chance: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/08/07/the-packet/
Wow...this makes me wonder what Mrs. Daffodil does for a living. haha!!
Thank you for that link! That will help.
I think it's pretty! We are paying $3000 to rent our venue, which includes the tables and chairs like yours does and we could also bring in whatever caterer we wanted. Sometimes I wish we were having it at a place that does it all for you, but I admit, I like having control over our choices. But, ours fits maybe 150, closer to 130, so having that one fit 300 is great! Do they also supply a coordinator?
I'm using that same packet from Mrs. Daffodil to set up the evening.

Ok so the last wedding I went to....was a long time ago...I think I've been a grand total of 4 weddings in my life. One of them I don't remember anything about it, and 2 of them had a weird reception. So my question is...well everything really.
But like a place I found today provides the chairs and the tables, lets you bring in whatever caterer you want, they have the audio system, it's a really nice place, for 2000....is that good? I don't even know.
Here's the link if anyone wants to judge it for themselves,

What's a good price for a venue, and including what?
Also what about all the motions? What exactly is the standard routine of a reception? Like does everyone do entrance music? When do you cut the cake, do your first dance etc?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, it's not like I've ever planned a wedding before. lol
