I am so fed up with this. My lymph nodes and throat are chronically swollen and sore. I’ve had 3 phone calls this morning and people can’t hear me. I was expecting a call about a delivery so not answering isn’t possible.
Don’t tell me to go to the doctor. It’s not going to get me in where I need to be any faster. I’ve seen 4 GPs, 2 specialists and have been waiting for months to see a 3rd. GPs can’t do anything for me. Heck, when I told me ENT what the possible cause was he went to 2 wikipedia pages.
I’m just really tired of feeling like crap and having some scares where I wonder if things are going to get bad enough that I’ll need emergency care.

@AB Bride: This is terrible. You need to see a better ENT. Have you been scoped with a camera? Do you have nodules or any problems on your chords?

Ugh that is the pits. One winter I lost my entire upper register. Nothing above what I lovingly call “man voice” would come out. No one could tell me why or what was causing it (ENT, GPs, or Specialists). Eventually it just cleared up and hasn’t happened since. Hopefully you find some answers/solutions soon 🙁

The issue is likely a blood/immune disorder. I don’t blame my ENT for using wikipedia, it’s rare. At least he cared enough to learn about it during my last appointment.
He has looked at my vocal cords twice. Last time they looked better, but it had been a while since I had lost my voice. I’m guessing they would look like they did the first time now.
