Sorry you're having such a bad day! Do you remember the address you gave him? I would write them a letter, explain the significance of the gift, and ask them to mail it back to you. Make sure to include money for postage. You might get lucky and have it sent back, and if not, you'll lose like $5-10, but at least you know you tried. If you just gave the wrong street number, maybe just ask if they can leave it on your parents doorstep or something.
It's the wrong street number - I switched up two numbers, so its actually a nonexistent address. I hoping that if FI doesn't hear from the Rep. about the flag before it is sent, that the mail carrier will recognize the names, see the very similar wrong address and figure it out.
If it'S their regular mail carrier and they have a good relationship, chances are the carrier will catch it. I've recieved things with the wrong address several times.

I really, really suck lately. First, I was feeling all insecure, then I got a speeding ticket, then today I forgot when my class started and showed up 30 minutes late even though I have been going to it at the same time on the same day for months. But, nope, that's not enough screwing up. Oh, no, I have to go and give FI the wrong address for my parents' house - the house I grew up in! He wrote a letter to their representative to get a flag flown about the Capitol building to give my stepdad, who is very patriotic, for Christmas. And I screwed it up.
I feel like such an idiot! And FI is even losing patience. Who doesn't know their own address?? I told him to send a second letter but he doesn't have time. :(
