@snickerdoodles:  I was so overwhelmed when I started planning my wedding. The first thing I did was find a venue and pick a date. They usually can recommend other vendors to you such as caterer, florist, bridal shop, or rentals which make the whole process so much less daunting.

Is this her first son to get married? I was hoping for elopement myself – but my FI being the first son to get married kind of made that a silly thought….aka he needed to celebrate with 200 people.

Totally overwhelming – my FI’s parent have been super generous and are spending a scary amount on the rehearsal dinner (I.e. renting out a portion of a museum). But, his mom shows love partly by being generous and they are really excited. Don’t worry – as long as it is not too much for you – let her enjoy this process, too.
