We looked at that place too… I didn’t like the double staircase look.  I don’t remember the guy’s name we talked to.. we basically drove by, walked in, and he showed us around.  They were way too expensive for us as well…

Good luck looking elsewhere!

@SM_xo:   Is Princeton, NJ in the area you are looking at?  If so I might have an idea or two…..

@SM_xo:   Well, here are some of the places we looked into – Lambertville Station, along the Delaware River,  The Nassau Inn, right in the heart of Princeton (they were super nice to us – answered all our questions right away) and also TPC Jasna Polana, in Princeton.  I’ve heard the Cranbury Inn in Cranbury is wonderful to work with , but we haven’t spoken to anyone there.   There are also some nice vineyards in north and central NJ which offer wedding packages.

@SM_xo:  Are you talking about my venue?  I know I’m getting married in a totally different place, but they are terrible about following up with us, to the point that my mom almost ended up demanding that we change our wedding date.  It’s smoothed over now.  Unfortunatly, since I’m getting married in a small town, they are the only option with our date open that I didn’t 100% hate.  🙁

@SM_xo:  I am getting married at the Hamilton Manor in Hamilton, NJ. It is absolutely GORGEOUS and our price is $98/pp so way less than your $200. Check out the pics! They are super nice, and answer emails right away/accomodate you.

We had an experience like that at the Bridgewater Manor – we set up an appointment (after numerous emails/calls the lady wouldn’t return) and when we showed up the woman wasn’t there. The owner was there and he offered to talk with us after saying “oh…she couldn’t make it in today…”. He was SO rude – didn’t understand why I thought it was an issue to have to share a bathroom with another bride/her wedding guests, wouldn’t give us a bigger room because we had a smaller number (which I get but the smaller room was SO UGLY! LOL) and basically said “well I can’t help you – so you can leave now”.

My venue was in your price range, I LOVED it, all my guests couldn’t stop talking about how awesome the place was:

I looked at Addison Park and they werent rude to us at all. They were actually one of the lower venues (pricewise) that we looked at. We chose not to go with them bc I HATED that the 2 weddings are divided by just a wall. Also, my old high school has their proms about it so my sister kept saying “yuck my prom was there…” LOL

@SM_xo:  I’m getting married at the Palace at Somerset Park. My FI picked it even though it was higher than what I had originally wanted but their customer service and food has been amazing. I had originally had my heart set on the Addison Park but hated the shared wall/bathroom issue. FI liked the menu from the Palace better because we get everything we could want instead of having to pick and choose and pay extra.

I also wanted to find a place that had a hotel with shuttle service since I have a lot of OOT guest and people planning to drink and there’s 3 hotels within 5 min
