I like the look of the first venue pick where they are covered and have a sash. It sounds like that would fit with your colours too which is great!

I don’t think they look that bad. But I’m not picky.

I don’t remember any of the chairs at any weddings I’ve been to =]

If there’s low lighting, I’m not sure anyone would really notice.

I would cover and sash them. 🙂

I have not always voted to cover naked chairs, because I don’t think it’s always necessary.  However, knowing the look that you want and how you feel about these chairs, and considering that the shape of these particular chairs and the material covering them makes them look more casual than the look that you’re seeking, I probably would cover them.

I would use them as is. No one cares about the chairs. If you want your guests to focus on the tables, you don’t need chair covers or sashes giving you a sea of black.

The minute your guests sit down, the chairs will be covered by coats, sweaters, and bodies.

    julies1949:  I agree with this.

I will add that I think there is a line between reasonable expectations and those that are firmly in “absurd attention to detail” territory. I realize that the line is in a different place for different people. In twenty years (or ten, or five), how many times are you going to look at wedding photos of your empty reception hall, and when you do, will you think, “Darn, I should have got those chair covers!”? I’ve been married more than 15 years and have probably looked at our wedding photos a dozen times total. Our album doesn’t even HAVE any photos of the empty reception hall, and all the photos that I care about are ones with people in them.

They’re much nicer than the brown folding chairs I have to deal with. 🙂 If you’re using black table linens, I would definitely use the chairs as-is. They won’t show anyway. If you’re going with white table linens, I would probably make them match.

MissCoupon:  I would invest money into awesome centerpieces rather than chairs. I think centerpieces would make the most impact.

I recommend getting chair covers if getting them won’t divert money away from more important areas.

Chairs that are unattractive and uncovered can really take away from a wedding’s look. There are so many of them, and they do stand out.

It’s not the end of the world if they’re not covered, of course, but when a bride goes through the trouble of picking wedding colors, a theme, pretty centerpieces and linens, and then has eight unattractive banquet chairs around each table, it detracts from the work that was done to make things look beatiful.

If the look of a wedding is important to you, then I suggest getting chair covers. Even the plainest chair covers can make a big difference and accent the rest of the decor well.

I usually hate chair covers but think the black ones you posted look great! I would go with that. I always notice the chairs at weddings. I’m very detail oriented though and little things like that really stick out to me.

    Rhopalocera: Totally agree!

My venue had similar chairs. I wasn’t going to cover them as I didnt think it was worth the money but after seeing photos of both options on their Facebook page closer to the date I decided I had too. It was 100% the right decision, it completely polished the room off. I was having white linens though.
